Catherine pulled out her phone and called Lance. The call barely rang twice before it was cut off. She tried again, but this time it went straight to voicemail.
“Are you getting in the cab or not?” someone behind her grumbled.
She stepped aside and apologized. “Sorry, you go ahead.”
Moving off to a quiet corner, she was about to call Aaron when a black SUV pulled up right in front of her. The window slid down and Gavin’s surprised face appeared.
“Catherine? What are you doing in Solenia?”
“Gavin.” The moment she saw him, it clicked for Catherine. He and Lance must be here for the same project.
It took Gavin a second to put the pieces together too. “Wait, Lance is here?”
Catherine didn’t answer.
Gavin’s face darkened. “He just can’t leave me alone, can he? I swear, I’m not losing to him this time.”
Catherine kept quiet, not wanting to mention Lance at all.
Gavin stepped out of the car and glanced at the two suitcases beside her. “So, Adelina’s here too?”
She nodded.
“They’ve already left?”
Another nod.
“Get in. I’ll take you.” Gavin signaled his driver to load up her luggage.
“No, really, it’s fine.” Catherine pulled her suitcase closer. “I’m already in line. A taxi will be quick.”
