The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 250

Normally, they would have had to wait another hour, but now they could go straight in.

Harrell noticed right away that his next patient had been swapped out for someone else. The people who walked in definitely didn’t look like they needed urgent care, and he didn’t even try to hide his annoyance.

“Lorinda, regular postpartum checkups don’t need an emergency slot,” he said.

Lorinda slid into the chair, crossed her legs, and offered him her hand. “You probably don’t recognize me, Dr. Harrell. I’m kind of an influencer. If people spot me, it could cause a little chaos, disrupt the hospital, you know how it goes.”

Harrell was about to cancel her appointment. But after hearing her explanation, he paused, set the mouse aside, and gently pressed his fingers to her wrist.

He’d studied Chinese medicine back home, then moved abroad to master Western medicine. He was talented—young, good-looking, and skilled. That combination alone was enough to spark Lorinda’s interest.

“Go get an ultrasound,” Harrell said, barely looking at her as he wrote up the order. “We’ll check how your uterus is doing.”

His icy tone made Lorinda swallow the flirty comments she’d been planning. She stood up, grabbed the slip, and as soon as she turned away, she rolled her eyes where he couldn’t see.

“Catherine.” Harrell was holding a pen, looking at her. “What can I help you with?”

Catherine stepped forward. “I’d like to get my medical records, please.”

“What for?” His voice was cool, almost uninterested.

“I’m moving to another city for work soon,” Catherine replied, keeping it simple.

Harrell was sharp. He caught on immediately. “Is it work stuff? Is Lance making you go?”

“It’s just a normal transfer,” Catherine said, thinking the word “making” didn’t sit right.
