The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 233

Henry pinched her chin, clearly considering it.

He had slept with many women, but Genevieve was the perfect match for him in both body and skill. He hadn't grown tired of her in two years. Plus, the woman now had Elias, that cash cow, backing her. Remarrying her would undoubtedly be the best move for him.

Genevieve caught the flicker of uncertainty in his eyes.

"Help me find a way to deal with Victoria."

"I don't just want to ruin her reputation. I want her... dead!"

-

It was broad daylight.

The doorbell rang insistently. Victoria frowned, rolled over, and covered her ears with a pillow.

Last night, her professor from across the ocean had heard she'd recently quit her job and given her two small projects.

He claimed it was because an architect needed to keep their mind sharp and sensitive to design at all times. Since she was unemployed, she could use these projects to practice. Otherwise, by the time she started her apprenticeship in the new year, her brain would be dull.

In reality, her highly accomplished but lazy professor had taken on projects he didn't want to do himself. Now that he had a talented student to palm them off on, he didn't hesitate to toss them her way.

Victoria saw right through it but didn't say anything. She had sat at her computer, reviewing the materials, and didn't stop until the sky began to lighten. By then, she was so exhausted she collapsed into bed.

Another ring.

"Meow!"

Dawn, awakened by the doorbell, stretched, hopped off the bed, and padded to the door.

Victoria opened her eyes, fumbled for the phone under her pillow, and squinted at the time on the screen.
