Cedric witnessed the drama unfold with great interest. He then nudged the guy beside him. “Brody, Shane’s deskmate is falling into their trap. They’re setting her up.”
When there was no response, he nudged him harder. After a few more tries, he noticed the atmosphere had grown tense.
He looked up, only to see Brody giving him a look.
Cedric followed his gaze downwards. Great! I kicked Shane!
He flashed Shane an awkward smile as he quickly pulled his foot back.
Shane didn’t bother him. He propped his chin on one hand and watched the drama unfold with amusement. Dora’s suggestion led to Carmen’s provocation. No matter what, Seraphina is destined to fall into their trap.
The group watched in smug anticipation. We’ve won.
If Seraphina refused, she wouldn’t be able to survive in school. Coming from the slums already made her
a target of disdain. Her classmates didn’t think she deserved to share their space.
Along with her poor grades, she’d be a walking punchline in their elite circle.
“Seraphina, calm down,” Linara urged.
Seraphina ignored her and turned to Carmen with a faint smile. “Your suggestion is a little dull. If we’re going to play, let’s make it more interesting, shall we?”
“Let’s hear it.” Carmen raised a brow, unimpressed.
“You
guys can’t handle being called losers. How about this? I’ll compete with each of you. If any one of you scores higher than me, I’ll admit defeat.
“Of course, it wouldn’t be any fun without stakes. The losing side will clean every restroom in the school building. No help is allowed. What do you say?”
Kelly and the others chuckled. Does she really think this will intimidate us? She is too naive.
“What’s there to be afraid of? We’re just scared that you’ll not be able to handle it all. Abigail sneered.
The group erupted in laughter.
Most people in Seraphina’s position would’ve been flustered, desperate to escape the ridicule.
But Seraphina stood her ground, her calm demeanor undisturbed. Her cool and steady gaze swept over them as the corner of her lips lifted.
As the laughter faded, the group became silent. They felt unnerved under her cold, unblinking stare.
Seraphina’s smile widened as she taunted sweetly. “What’s wrong? Why did you stop laughing?”

Take the chance to laugh while you can.
“Psycho,” muttered Milly.
Caleb spoke up, “Since you proposed a condition, it’s only fair we add one too, don’t you think?”
Seraphina shrugged, indicating him to continue.
“If we win, that sports car you drove here today will be ours.”
Linara’s heart skipped a beat. That is Dylan’s favorite limited-edition sports car.
“Seraphina, calm down,” she advised, though a flicker of excitement glimmered in her eyes.
“Fine. But if you get something out of this, what about me?”
“What do you want?”
“I want something simple. Every single one of you will run fifty laps around the school track according to my instructions. Do you dare?” Seraphina’s gaze swept over each of them.
