Chapter 244 Generation Gap
The message read, ‘Mr. Foster, I’m not interested in you. You’re almost old enough to be my father, so forget about pursuing me. I won’t like you; I like someone else. Just give up. If you have shame, don’t contact me anymore. Let’s stay out of each other’s way. If you contact me again, you’re a loser.‘
Andrew couldn’t help but touch his face and look at Joe for assurance. “Am I old?”
If he remembered correctly, he was only turning thirty years old this year.
It’s impossible to have a seventeen–year–old daughter at twenty–nine years old!
Joe reassured him, “No, you’re not old.”
“What did you tell her?” Andrew asked in disbelief.
To make her misunderstand my motives.
Seeing Andrew’s expression, Joe immediately understood his underlying accusation and innocently explained, “I told her you wanted to see her.”
I did nothing wrong! There were no innuendoes!
He didn’t know what gave Seraphina the false sense.
He added, “Young people think differently from us.”
Andrew narrowed his eyes. “Young people, huh?”
Joe realized he had said the wrong thing and immediately remedied it. “The teenage girls‘ mindset is different from us adults. Look at our age difference. Can’t you see the generation gap between us and her?”
“Contact her again.”
“Okay.”
After Andrew left, realization dawned on Joe.
Hold on. Didn’t you see her last sentence? You’re a loser if you contact her again! Can’t you see she ridiculed you? Wait a minute! I’m the one who’ll contact her again! He made a shocked face. I don’t want to be a
loser!
He helplessly scratched his nose and called Seraphina again. Yet, she was unreachable. After his second attempt, the corners of his lips twitched. Could she have blocked the number?

He called again with a different number, but no one answered.
After three attempts, he temporarily put the matter aside to deal with other tasks.
Seraphina returned from the courtyard. When she entered the room, a faint fragrance tickled her nostrils. It didn’t belong to her or Jasmine.
The familiar scent was nauseating.
She narrowed her eyes and scanned the room. Nothing seemed to be misplaced. Then, her gaze landed on her phone on the bedside table.
She walked over and picked up the phone. She noticed five missed calls.
She called the person. Before long, they picked up their phone. “Miss Seraphina, listen carefully. Mr. Foster doesn’t want to pursue you. He just wants to meet you and discuss something.”
She was stunned by the revelation. She asked, “What did I say just now?”
Someone messed with us. Joe immediately grasped the situation.
“You sent a message. I’ll resend it to you later. The landline number I tried to call you with earlier is blocked,” he briefed her on the story.
“Okay.”
“When will you be available?” he asked.
“New Year is around the corner. We are expecting visitors these days. Let’s meet after that. I’m flexible with time, so whenever you’re free,” she replied.
They finalized the matter on the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Seraphina saw the so–called message. A glint flashed across her
eyes.
She clicked her tongue. Linara doesn’t know when to stop. She hasn’t learned her lesson from the past. Perhaps I have been too kind to her?
