Was she dreaming again? Ever since she had gotten rid of her child weeks ago, she had been haunted by dreams filled with children. The voice that was knocking on her door and shouting for her to open it sounded innocent and young like a small child.
Whose child was it?
Jane sat up abruptly and grabbed a robe from her closet hurriedly before running over to open the door. She wanted to know who the child was. For a moment, she was even wondering if she was still dreaming.
Upon opening the door, she saw a small figure dressed in a fiery red dress, who was looking up at her with a grin. "You look so pretty, auntie, just like my Mommy. My Mommy is probably slightly prettier, by a little bit, a little bit only."
The small child batted her eyelashes cheerfully at Jane. Hidden within her eyes was the appreciation of the adult woman before her eyes, but not outshining the child's unconcealable protectiveness towards her own mother, which triggered overwhelming emotions in Jane's heart once again. She squatted down so that she could be at eye level with the small child in red.
"Hm, just as I thought. A woman as smart and pretty like your Mommy would give birth to a baby even smarter and prettier. Your Mommy might be prettier
than me by a little bit, but you are even prettier than her, also by a little bit."
"You know who my Mommy is, auntie?" The child leaned against the door frame, while resting one leg over the other, looking smug.
Jane smiled widely, her brows curved as she did. "H m...your Mommy is Sabrina Scott, right? Let me guess, you are called...Aino!"
Instantly, Ain's shoulders dropped. "Aw, I was going to stun you, and I've failed."
"You stunned me with how pretty you are."
The child beamed. "I like you, auntie."
This mansion was not where Alex usually stayed, but merely one of the properties he owned in South City. Therefore, Jane rarely dressed in the clothes that were stored here. Most of the clothes were more to a leisurely and casual style as they were usually here for vacation. Luckily, the casual clothes that she had were slim-fitted so they should suffice for a trip to the shopping mall.
"This one, auntie! I like this one!" Aino immediately picked a royal blue jumpsuit with polka dots.
'Polka dots? Oh, my, the colour is sharp and lively, slightly more to a cute appearance, fitting that a six-year old would pick this,' she thought. With a smile, she responded, "Aino, wouldn't auntie be too old for a dress like that?"
"Hehe, not at all." Aino shook her little head and said," Duck down, duck down, auntie."
Jane did as she was told and crouched down. "What is it, little girl?"
The child immediately took off the bow that was on her head and placed it on Jane's, before planting a kiss on Jane's forehead. "Auntie looks super pretty!"
