Sabrina was speechless.
She glanced over at Sebastian, her expression still calm.
Lincoln was still speaking on the other end. "You'd better get over here right this instant! If you don't come over, I'll make sure you regret it!" 1
"Okay," she said calmly.
Kingston and Sebastian stared at her as she hung up.
"That..." Sabrina twiddled her fingers. "In the afternoon I came over to visit Aunt Grace right after delivering some things to a construction site without heading back to the company. The supervisor wants m e back there now... It wasn’t easy for me to find this job." 1
"We’ll get the clothes tomorrow," Sebastian said.
Sabrina sighed in relief. "Thank you, I'll be off."
"Let Kingston send you.”
"No... No need," Sabrina said as she looked back, "my workplace is just nearby."
With that, she hurried away.
After getting on the bus and leaving the hospital, Sabrina dialled back Lincoln. "I don’t owe you anything!"
"You’ve stolen my daughter’s husband!" Lincoln barked viciously. 2
Sabrina's reply was calm and cold. "You shouldn't be looking for me about this. You should get your daughter to look for Mr Ford herself. Oh, that’s right, doesn't she already do that regularly? I’ve never interrupted them." 1
"You..." the sound of the enraged Lincoln's grinding teeth could be heard. "Come over to Coast Coffee immediately! You'll regret it otherwise!"
"Not a problem." Sabrina hung up after that.
She arrived at Coast Coffee half an hour later, and noticed Lincoln sitting alone in a booth. His eyes returned Sabrina’s gaze with a vicious look. Sabrina walked up to him, not even sitting down before she asked coldly, "What is it? Speak up."
"I’ll give you three days, get lost from South City!" Lincoln's demand was unreasonable.
"For what reason?!"
Subduing him with a sentence, she left. 2
She was not willing to look at him for a second longer than she needed to.
Back then, when she was younger, she had been accepted into the Lynn household as a vagrant. At the time, she really did see him as her father. She needed the father's love that other girls had but she didn't.
She did not understand why, given that both Selene and herself were adopted into the Lynn family, did Lincoln treat Selene like a pearl while she was treated like a beggar. 1
Literally- she’s even had to beg before.
Sabrina sat alone at the bus stop in the middle of the night, her tears blurring her vision.
She cried over her lack of determination. Why had she always fantasized about Lincoln as her father? 2
It was deep into the night when she finally dragged her exhausted self back into Sebastian's home. 1
She heard a voice coming from within as she pushed the door open. "Madam, Sir has asked me to wait for you to return and make sure you eat."
