Sebastian was left staring behind her.
The next day.
Sabrina had gotten up early as usual, and was preparing to leave after washing her face. Before she could, however, she heard a deep voice coming from behind her.
"Hold on."
Sabrina turned around to find Sebastian, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, holding onto his briefcase.
Sabrina shot him a look of confusion.
"We're seeing my mother at the hospital this morning," Sebastian said in a soft voice.
Sabrina was speechless.
Following awkwardly behind Sebastian, she got off the elevator and saw Kingston's car parked by the entrance.
Sabrina walked past the front of the car with no intention of slowing down. As she had almost passed the doors, Sebastian suddenly grabbed ahold of her arm.
Sabrina trembled in surprise.
"Get in," he said calmly as he opened the car door, gesturing for her to get in before he did himself. He
proceeded to take a seat on the same row as her.
The sudden gesture had felt unnatural to Sabrina.
Having grown used to him treating her coldly, she had not expected this sudden change in behaviour. Sebastian, however, seemed undisturbed. He said nothing the entire way, taking out his computer to work without even sparing Sabrina a glance.
She tugged at the corner of her shirt uncomfortably. 1
Sabrina had figured that she had become able to easily act casual and cool enough in front of him, but she had never realized that it all hinged on the condition that he, in turn, was cold and uncaring too.
Now that he was acting differently, she was at a loss. Before this version of Sebastian, she was inexperienced.
The man looked around.
"That one, State Breakfast Diner."
He immediately walked over after saying that.
He was acting too strange today, and Sabrina did not dare not to follow. As they entered the diner, the man sat down at the table before telling Sabrina in a commanding tone, "Go order us breakfast. I'll have some milk and toast, you get anything you want."
Sabrina was speechless.
She hesitated for a few moments before obediently going to order their food. Coming back with their breakfast and placing it before him, she sat down in front of him nervously before asking helplessly, "Mr Ford, I don’t know what you are... Why?"
"Why what?" The man looked at Sabrina with an impatient gaze while biting into his toast. 1
"Having breakfast with me... Why?" Sabrina asked.
"We’re husband and wife. Why do you need to ask why we're having breakfast together?” The man did not even look at Sabrina as he said those words.
