Granduncle Scott looked at Sabrina with a curious expression. "Saddle, did you come here thinking that your mother was dead?"
Sabrina nodded. "Lincoln told me six years ago that she was buried right here."
Granduncle Scott asked again, "Is Lincoln the man who came with your mother when she first married your father?"
"Yes."
"He is not a good person at all!" Granduncle Scott’s face suddenly twisted as he exclaimed furiously.
He continued, "That man claimed he was your mother's cousin, but never came to see her again after she married your father.
"After that, when your father passed away, he didn't come to visit your family either.
"When you left the village, your mother started working to pay for your university fees. At the time, she only made around five to six hundred a month, and could only keep a hundred for herself because Lincoln demanded the rest of it for your allowance
"Your mother has suffered so much!
"Lincoln is clearly a person of status, yet, he never once helped your mother!
"As if that wasn't cruel enough, he even came back here about five or six times in the past six years. 1
"Each time, he would tell the residents here that you and your mother ran away from the city because of some crimes you committed. He even ordered us to contact him immediately if we ever saw you back at the village.
"I’m certain that Coral was also working for Lincoln's family."
When Granduncle Scott and a few other kind hearted villagers had seen Sabrina being dragged away by Coral, they could not help but feel worried for her safety.
However, when they saw how she had returned without a scratch on her, they immediately felt relieved. On top of that, they also noticed that there was a man standing next to Sabrina who was dressed i n a suit.
Seeing that the man even had a car and a few bodyguards following behind him, Granduncle Scott guessed that Sabrina must have made it big in South City.
She would not have to live in fear of anyone else again.
As such, he didn’t hesitate to tell Sabrina the truth.
Granduncle Scott asked, "Sabby, were you really not with your mother all this time? Then where did she go for so many years?
"When your parents first got married, your father’s health was not in the best condition and he could not d o much physical labor.
The other villagers had always looked down on her, calling her a child from another marriage, a b*stard.
It hadn't been easy for Sabrina's mother to send her off to study, and yet, they ended up being separated for eight years.
Now, she didn’t even know whether her mother was alive.
How could this child be so pitiful?
He could only look on as Sabrina cried helplessly.
She didn't even get the chance to see her mother for one last time while she was still alive. Now that her mother had passed away, Sabrina returned to the village, thinking that she would be buried here, only to learn that she was mistaken.
Her mother wasn't here!
"It's all my fault, mother! It's all my fault! I couldn’t take good care of you. First, I was in prison. Then I went on the run for six years.
"I... I never got the chance to come back and visit you. It's all my fault. Mother, where are you? Are you dead o r alive, mother...” No matter how many times she tried, Sabrina couldn't get over the fact that her mother was possibly gone forever.
With a look of despair on her face, she ran headfirst toward the broken tiles of her old home.
