Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 711

Now, after all this time, Sabrina was finally back.

"Sabbie, come with me to my house, I need to talk to you.” Even though he was now of old age, Granduncle Scott was still very much cautious and alert. Seeing how the place was crowded, he knew that it wasn't suitable to have a conversation here.

After nodding at him, Sabrina turned to look at the people present and at the forklift driver who was about to resume work. She took a deep breath and announced, "I'm the owner of this house. Since I'm here now, you’ll have to give me an explanation as to why you were allowed to start the demolition work without my consent.

"Otherwise, I'll just lie down right here. We'll see how you continue working then!"

The forklift driver was left completely speechless.

He was just following orders, after all. Seeing this, the manager of the village’s construction had no choice but to make a few phone calls.

After a while, he sighed and shook his head, saying to the forklift driver, "There's no choice, we’ll have to stop for now. Since the owner of this house is here now, we'll only be able to resume work once her concerns are dealt with."

Under their manager's instructions, the forklift

drivers turned around and drove their machines away.

Being salaried workers in this day and age, none of them wanted to get involved in any unnecessary trouble.

Just like that, Sabrina's house that had almost been demolished was now saved.

Actually, there wasn't much to save. It was just a mud hut with a few small rooms. In fact, it didn't even have a roof, and the broken furniture inside was all but decayed by now. Yet, even so, Sabrina still went to look through her old house carefully.

To her surprise, she managed to find a family portrait of the three of them that was taken when she was much younger. 1

In the photo, she was only about five or six years old. Her mother was still very young and her father looked to be older than her by more than ten years. Both of them looked like good, honest people and in the photograph, they all had happy and contented looks o n their faces.

As Sabrina studied it, tears began to blur her vision.

"Sabbie, child..." Granduncle Scott called out to her through the ruins of her old house.

Sabrina turned her head immediately and replied," Granduncle?"

"Come, let's go to my house now," he said.

Sabrina nodded as she packed the photos and followed behind the old man.

Meanwhile, the village people seemed to be murmuring about her and would even point at Sabrina from time to time.

Sabrina nodded at him. "I know, Granduncle. So where can I go to this cousin of mine?"

To be honest, 300,000 was nothing to her now.

However, it was her own home that they were talking about. If it was going to be demolished, they had to at least get her consent before anything could be done.

Besides, her father was buried just behind the house. Even though she wasn't home when her mother had passed away, Sabrina was almost certain that she was buried there as well, right beside her father. Therefore, regardless of the compensation money, she had to move her parents' graves away first.

This cousin of hers, did she even care about where

Sabrina's parents were buried?

Sabrina was determined to seek her out.

"Your cousin and her parents are staying in the county town, but they're considered powerful and influential people here. They..." Granduncle Scott stuttered as he spoke, sounding hesitant.

Right at that moment, a sharp voice drifted in from the yard. "I heard Sabrina is back! Where is she? I want to see her now! She really had the audacity to come back after all this time!"
