Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 709

That night, she didn’t dream at all. Though Sabrina got a good rest, she woke up very early the next morning as she wasn’t used to sleeping without using Sebastian’s arm as a pillow.

Not long after the morning rays of the sun crept into her room through the windows, she prepared herself t o face the new day.

Then, she ate breakfast in the hotel at six in the morning before hailing a taxi.

As she passed by the county town while traveling from the airport yesterday, Sabrina had felt that the town had lost its old and vintage charm. Now, numerous tall buildings stood in every part of the area. After taking a closer look in the daytime, she noticed that construction and development works of all sorts were taking place virtually everywhere.

Seeing as the town was developing so rapidly, Sabrina could not help but wonder what her old house, which was located not far from the town centre, looked like now?

Every lot in the residential areas must have been occupied by a newly-built double-storey house, right?

The only exception being her own house, of course.

Back then, when she left the town at the tender age of 1 2, her house was still made completely out of mud.

Surely after so many years, the mud-hut must have collapsed.

After getting a taxi, Sabrina discussed the fare with the driver, but didn’t do as Sebastian suggested.

Instead of paying 2000 dollars for a whole day's service, she offered only 1000. Nevertheless, it was more than enough to make the driver feel excited.

When Sabrina entered the car, he started asking her all sorts of questions in great spirits.

"Miss, judging from how you're dressed, you're probably not a local. You look more like a city girl. Are you here for a family visit or to see your friends, or are you perhaps on vacation?" The driver sounded enthusiastic.

Without elaborating, Sabrina answered, "A little bit of everything."

After a while, she remarked, "The county town is developing so fast, it's almost like a city now."

The driver immediately replied, "Just 20 years ago, this town was about four times as small as it is now. Look, right in front of you is a high-end housing area, i t looks like a park."

"Yeah, the scenery here is beautiful," Sabrina said without putting much thought into it.

"You mean this place? The scenery here can't possibly be considered pretty. I'm betting that you haven’t seen the East Lake. The view there is much better."

The driver obeyed.

After a while, Sabrina said again, "Turn right."

Even though the roads were much wider now, the routes themselves had not changed. By now, the car had already entered an area she was very familiar with. If her memory served her right, they would reach her childhood village as long as they continued heading north before driving along a small road for about a kilometer.

To her dismay, Sabrina saw that demolition works were already underway as the car arrived at the village. Furthermore, she noticed that the first few houses by the main road had already been taken down.

Sabrina grew nervous at the sight of this.

The driver could tell from her expression too. "Miss, d o you have relatives here?"

She answered sombrely, "My house is here."

Without saying anything, he continued driving. As they got closer to Sabrina's home, the driver tried to say, "The forklifts and cranes are already being operated...”

When the car came to a halt, Sabrina immediately ran out as if she was crazed, shouting, "Wait! Wait!"
