Back in South City, Sebastian was in the middle of a meeting.
He sat in the middle of the room while Aino lay beside him, fast asleep on the sofa that had been placed there temporarily for her. Sitting opposite him around the long oval table were approximately 30 men and women.
They were all his trusted subordinates.
Yet, he didn't hesitate to answer Sabrina's call in the middle of this tense meeting.
He lifted his hand to silence them while speaking into the phone. "Did you manage to book a hotel room yet?"
Sabrina answered gently, "Yeah, it's the best hotel in this county. The bed is almost as big as ours at home, but it just feels empty without you and Aino beside m e."
Anyone who knew her would describe Sabrina as an independent woman, one who wasn't easily affected b y solitude.
However, for the past few months, their little family had rarely stayed apart. Now that she had to leave her husband and child behind, it was only natural for Sabrina to feel lonely.
Because of that, she unconsciously began to whine.
"Mmm... Sebastian, kiss me," she suddenly asked.
At the moment, Sabrina clearly wasn't aware that the three people she hated the most, the Lynns, had escaped, or that Sebastian was hosting an emergency meeting right now because of that.
Her gentle words drifted through the phone and into the attendees' ears...
Even though she wasn't on loudspeaker, the silent night, coupled with the fact that everybody else’s mouths had been zipped shut, allowed Sabrina's voice to ring loud and clear throughout the meeting room.
Hearing no answer from Sebastian’s end, Sabrina asked lazily, "Why, are you busy putting Aino to bed?"
Sebastian glanced at the sleeping child beside him and said to his wife, "Don't worry, Aino is already sound asleep."
"Hmph! Why wont you kiss me then? I thought you were embarrassed because Aino was beside you," Sabrina asked cheekily.
She seemed to be quite open-minded today.
In contrast, she would never act so boldly when the two of them were physically together.
Yet, now that she couldn't see him, Sabrina had started to miss him more. Since he wouldn’t be able to see the look on her face anyway, Sabrina decided to be a little more shameless. "Why? Are you shy? If you won't kiss me, then I'll kiss you. Press your cheek
against the phone, I’m kissing you now." 1
Believe me, I'll definitely do it!" Sabrina threatened haughtily.
He couldn’t touch her now anyway, she thought.
Even if Sebastian did catch her, there would be heavy punishment in store for her.
However, she looked forward to his kind of punishment. Very much so.
No matter how she looked at it, she would only benefit from their conversation.
If that’s the case, she might as well enjoy herself now t o her heart's content.
Nevertheless Sabrina was aware that she was doing all of this for a reason. Though she had tried to deny it, there was a hidden fear that lingered on her chest.
She couldn't help but feel nervous about her visit to the old house tomorrow, and the things that would await her there. Feeling uneasy, she had decided to call her husband to flirt and joke around.
Even though it sounded quite childish, it really did calm her down.
"I'm so happy!" Sebastian suddenly exclaimed, raising his voice.
