Ruth rubbed the little metal box with her hand and explained, her tone once again respectful. "Ohm, don't think that this metal box looks old and dusty, but its contents are great. It's...the oil made from baby mice.”
Yvonne was shocked. "What...huh?"
Sabrina was stunned too.
Ruth gulped down a big spoonful of mushroom soup, chewing as she explained. "It’s made from baby nice, newly born ones, those that don’t even have fur yet. You soak them in oil for a few months, then filter the oil out."
Yvonne was confused. "What is this for? Say, Ruth, don't tell me you eat such weird food! Most people put salt and pepper in their food, and you put oil made from baby mice!"
Even if Yvonne said such words to her, Ruth didn't grow angry. She didn’t have many friends either. The noble socialites like her cousin only saw her as a dog. But then in the past Ruth didn't take normal, everyday people like Yvonne seriously, so she never had any friends. Until yesterday, when her parents chased her out of the house, she walked on the streets and the only person she could think of was Yvonne.
She didn't expect Yvonne's eyes would be filled with care and concern the moment she saw how
downtrodden Ruth looked. Ruth was grateful.
Truth through adversity indeed.
Ruth pushed away Yvonne’s hand gruffly. "What! I bought this from an old servant. The servant took care of me and my cousin when we were children and one o f her family members was a doctor. They have a secret medicine, apply this oil anywhere you have scars and your scars will fade. I was worried...about Mrs. Ford’s face. I have kept this oil with me since the day before yesterday." i
With that, she handed the oil to Sabrina. "Mrs. Ford, I can see some scars on your face. This is very effective, I'm not lying."
Sabrina had only brought her phone, she didn't even bring a bag. Ruth, she didn't even have her phone with her. The three of them looked at each other in turn. They realized the expensive buffet hadn't even prepared tissues for their guests.
"What should we do? Your hand is all oily."
Sabrina laughed. "That's nothing, look!"
With that, she lifted up the inner lining of her skirt and wiped the oil on it, then she covered the dirty part with the outer lining and it was completely hidden.
Her actions shocked Yvonne and Ruth. Yvonne exclaimed in shock, "Sabrina, you...you do things like these too?!"
