Emma's voice came through the line as she anticipated and said, "Sabrina, I won't have to teach you what to say now, will I?"
"How did you get my number?" Sabrina asked calmly. 1
"How do you think?" Emma chuckled casually. "Your contact is in the Human Resources' database, why wouldn't I know? I know you are currently being questioned at the police station. Whether Linda can get out depends on whether you are willing to be a good girl."
"So are you choosing to protect Linda, or yourself?" Sabrina's tone remained composed.
"What are you trying to say??" Emma barked.
"I mean, if I burn, I'll make sure we burn together."
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Sure, I wouldn't." Sabrina smiled bitterly. "My daughter's fate is in your hands after all, of course I wouldn't dare! But what matters here is for you to make sure I tell ONLY the truth of what people saw here. Linda was indeed the one who hit me, and the police saw her with their own eyes!"
Emma paused for a moment, before caving in. "Fine! Linda only has her own stupidity to blame for carrying on with the shoes in her hands even after the
police showed up!"
They had already inspected her injury and the doctor had provided Sabrina a cooling pack to relieve the swelling. She stepped out of the police station and began wandering aimlessly. She knew that Emma
was going to come after her and Sebastian had silently given her his approval to do so by paying the Poole Family a visit in Kidon City at this time. Sabrina doubted if she could even survive another day. If she truly was destined to doom, she would love to see Aunt Grace once again in the afterlife. 2
That afternoon, Sabrina sat near the residence they lived in with an ice pack over her cheek for over three hours. She saw Aunt Tianna headed out at around one o'clock, followed shortly by Aunt Lewis with a grocery basket in her arm. After making sure that all the servants had left, Sabrina put on a face mask and went home.
It was undeniable that she was already attached to this place she had called home for the past two months, and most importantly, she had grown attached to the warmth she received from Sebastian.
