Linda was at a loss for words.
When the director saw Sabrina's reaction, she immediately reprimanded, "Linda! As a staff member, you can't just blab about things that you didn’t see for yourself! Sabrina, tell me now, how did Ruth get injured?!”
As the design director, what happened to Sabrina outside of work had nothing to do with her, mistress o r not.
Nevertheless, she had allegedly injured another colleague during work hours, which was a very serious issue. Since Sabrina was just a newcomer, the director thought that maybe she should just fire her today.
She had caused too much trouble!
The director kept her solemn gaze fixed on Sabrina, waiting to see how she would answer.
Despite being questioned like that, Sabrina still looked very composed. She merely replied, "Director, I think that the personnel, logistics and security departments will be able to give us the best answer. Since you are m y superior, I’d appreciate it if you could help me deal with this issue right now!"
After staring at her for a moment, the director nodded, "Very well."
As promised, she went to the Human Resources Department to have a short discussion with the other managers. Then, they summoned some staff members from the logistics department and headed to the surveillance room together.
As they watched the CCTV recording closely, they saw Ruth creeping into the company warehouse quietly to pick out a broken chair. She had then pushed it over t o Sabrina’s desk and replaced her original chair with the broken one. However, when Sabrina returned to her office, she quickly brought the chair back to Ruth’s desk.
Without realizing that the broken chair was now at her desk, Ruth sat down and got injured.
When they saw everything, the design director, the manager of the Human Resources Department and the two security guards were all left speechless.
"Is there anything else?" Sabrina asked.
The director was at a loss for words.
That evening, Sabrina left work with a slight feeling of melancholy. She still wanted this job desperately despite getting involved in a situation like this. As long as the Human Resources Department and the director didn't fire her, she would continue working here. She wasn't afraid of rumors, nor was she afraid o f Ruth.
All she had wanted was a job.
Yet it seems like even that small wish wouldn't be able to come true anymore.
She told herself to stop thinking about it. Her search
for a new job would begin tomorrow.
Sabrina headed toward the bus stop alone. Just as she was taking a turn at the intersection, she suddenly saw a car skidding to a halt in front of her.
Sabrina jumped in shock when she saw the person sitting in the car. "You...why are you here?"
