Sabrina turned around to the source of the voice and saw Linda walking in with her hands on her waist.
"Linda," Sabrina called out.
"Are you the mistress?” Linda suddenly asked Sabrina with a fierce tone, as if she was the one who had stolen her man.
She looked Sabrina dead in the eye.
Linda was curious to see how Sabrina would get out of this mess. Meanwhile, their conversation had caught the attention of the other colleagues in the office who were now looking in their direction. 1
No one in their right mind would enjoy being interrogated like that. Those who couldn't stand the scrutiny might have even cried if they were asked such a question.
However, Sabrina remained calm. "Whose mistress, if I may ask?"
"What do you mean?!" Linda replied harshly.
"If you are asking whether I'm your husband's mistress, then I have to apologise, since I don’t even know who he is. And even if I am, you're the one who should go home and teach your jerk of a husband a lesson first!"
When she heard Sabrina's retort, Linda didn't know
how to respond.
She got so furious that she could feel her hair standing up. Linda had never expected this little country bumpkin to be so offensive with her words.
"What did you say? I'm not even married!"
"If you are not married, then how could I possibly have seduced your husband? You're just trying to frame m e!” Sabrina sat still at her desk without looking at Linda.
She didn't even fear death, much less someone as insignificant as Linda.
It was just a job after all!
This left Linda at a loss for words.
From their conversation, the other colleagues realised that Sabrina was not someone that they could simply mess with, despite her unfashionable exterior.
They immediately stopped their gossiping as they wanted to avoid getting involved.
Besides, Master Ryan had even taken a liking to her.
Just like that, Sabrina had managed to avoid the damage from a volcano that had been just about to erupt.
Linda, who decided that there was no point in pursuing the matter any further, passed a pile of documents to Sabrina.
"Here! Finish these drafts for me as soon as possible. You said that you joined this company purely with your own skills. Since you can draw well and are tech savvy, you should be able to read these manuscripts. Remember not to make any mistakes, as these are all construction drafts. Any errors you make will end up causing great harm to the company, and you definitely won't be able to bear the consequences!"
After saying that, Linda left the design department haughtily, her high heels clicking behind her and a stack of documents in her hands.
