Upon saying that, Yvonne hung up the call. Over on this end of the call, Sabrina became even more worried than she was before. That kind of foreboding she had felt absolutely very real.
She immediately called Marcus. "Marcus, are you together with Yvonne?"
Marcus immediately replied on the other end of the call, "No, Sabrina. Are you looking for Yvonne? Did she not go to work today?"
Sabrina was speechless. Even Marcus did not know what Yvonne was up to? How could she keep it a secret from Marcus? Could she have gone to meet up with another man?
However, after Sabrina gave it another thought, that was impossible. Yvonne was not that kind of person. Her relationship with Marcus was not any less than Sabrina's relationship with Sebastian. What the hell was Yvonne up to?
Sabrina was so worried that she was unable to do anything. However, she did not dare to give Yvonne a fright. She was afraid if Yvonne was scared, she would become a mess. If some criminals were really following Yvonne, her being nervous and afraid would only bring harm to herself.
It would be alright. It should be alright. Everything would certainly be alright.
Sabrina was unable to do anything for the entire day. She did not review and approve of any of the design drafts as she should have done, and the majority of the corrections that should be made were done on her behalf by Ruth.
"What's the matter, Sabrina?" Ruth could tell that Sabrina was distracted.
Ruth nodded. She knew that it was Sabrina’s nature to conceal her real feelings and never let her intentions show outwardly. As long as it was something Sabrina did not wish to talk about, even if you asked a million times, she would remain tight-lipped.
The only Ruth was able to do was to help Sabrina take care of work-related matters. After Ruth returned to her workstation, Sabrina tried calling Yvonne’s phone once again. She was truly feeling extremely anxious. She knew her husband very well. If he had suddenly let her go to send an email while they stuck to each other like that last night, it would be proof that Sebastian had an incomparably accurate sense that the matter was not so simple. Sebastian had always been calm and steady. He had always deliberated everything meticulously. If it was something that he was worried about, then it certainly would be something major.
After she dialed a series of numbers, Sabrina kept muttering, "Come on, Yvonne, pick up. Pick up."
However, a robotic voice was heard saying on the other end of the call, "The number you have dialed has been switched off."
