"Gloria, I—" James wanted to explain himself but he was cut off by Gloria before he did.

"I know. I know, James," said Gloria. "It's because you heard Angie talking about her husband who used to sweet-talk at the beginning but ended up having a change of heart, so you don't want to be a man who sweet-talks. You didn't want to be like Angie's husband. He gave her flowers every day and treated her very attentively, but in the end, he still abandoned Angie. A m I right?"

James nodded. "Yes, I just wanted to do something more useful for you."

"It's all your favorites and they are all very light. I was thinking you can't have something too heavy in the morning. What do you think?" James was very good at catering to someone else's liking.

"I couldn't agree with more!" Gloria raised her hand and very naturally linked her arms with James. Both of them then walked to the living room together.

Once they walked through the door, Gloria released her hands from James’ arm and took a few steps forward while she called out, "Angie! Angie, get up! James has brought us breakfast."

As soon as she said that, she saw from the corner of her eyes that Angie held something in her hands and directly smashed it onto James' face. "You shameless thing! You've come to pester Gloria again!"
