Sabrina's expression suddenly changed. She sat down on the chair, dazed, and could barely even hear her own voice. "You... what did you just say?"
"I said, today is my wedding day. I’m about to marry the most powerful man in South City, Sebastian and h e happens to be the father of the child in your belly," enunciated Selene as she smiled at Sabrina sinisterly.
When Selene said that to Sabrina, it sounded as if she was talking to her best friend.
Sabrina could only stare at Selene, stunned.
Her entire body stiffened as she mumbled to herself," How can this be possible? How can this be possible? How can this be possible? Isn’t that man supposed to b e dead?
"Isn't he dead?"
Since she assumed that the man had already passed away, Sabrina had always avoided the topic whenever possible. She never brought it up herself, because she would start to think that her fate was too miserable just at the thought.
Her first time had been taken away by a man who was almost dead.
And now, she even carried the child of that dead man i n her.
She didn’t even know what that man looked like, whether he was old or young.
She knew virtually nothing about him.
The only thing that could console Sabrina was the fact that she still had a child in her belly. It did not matter i f that child would be called a bastard in the future. She couldn't care less about what anyone else would say.
Despite its tragic conceivement, Sabrina still thought that the child in her belly was a priceless gift from heaven.
Because, in this world, Sabrina no longer had any other family. The child in her belly was the last source of hope she had left. For that reason solely, Sabrina wanted to live in a large city so that her child would not be looked down upon in the future.
It was already too late, as she only found out about it after she left the Ford family hall, having severed all her ties with the family. Sabrina’s harsh words in the hall had clearly hurt Sebastian deeply. If she went to see Sebastian now, she would be announcing to the entire South City, and every member of the entire upper class here, that Sabrina did not keep her word t o leave them alone.
Sabrina was trapped, unable to do anything even after hearing such life changing information.
Haha!
How fun!
How satisfying!
Sabrina looked at Selene, her face crestfallen. "Selene, this isn't funny. You should go get married if you want to so badly. I won't stop your marriage with Sebastian, nor do I have the ability to, but this joke you're making isn't funny at all. I'm sorry, I’m about to leave this city, and I'm not interested in listening to you speak anymore."
Sabrina's lips were already pale.
