Hearing Sabrina said so, Alex sat upright at once. He asked excitedly, "Sabrina, you know where Jane is, don’t you?"
Sabrina was speechless.
Alex looked at Sabrina with anticipation. "Sabrina, tell me where my Jane is. Will you tell me?"
Sabrina said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Mr Poole. I truly don’t know where she is. She had given me a call last time. I originally didn't want to tell you. The whole mountain is a cemetery.”
After a pause, Sabrina sighed. "I know you want to find Jane. I want to find her too. Because I have been pregnant before, I know that being on the run while giving birth to the child is just a hair's breadth from death! Therefore, I want to find Jane even more than you do."
After saying that, Sabrina then took over the flowers from Alex’s hand and carefully put them into the vase. Alex then dispiritedly slumped back on the bed.
"It seems that Jane is not planning to let me see her again in this life anymore. Does she...hate me this much?"
Sabrina consoled Alex calmly. "Mr Poole, to be very honest with you, I couldn’t tell how much hate Jane had for you the last time we spoke on the phone. On
the contrary, she was very grateful for the care you've given her all these years. The only thing was that she wanted to know what had she done to have offended you for you to hunt her down this way." 1
Alex smiled and said self-deprecatingly, "Is my search a hunt for her?"
"Therefore, Mr Poole, no matter what I say, Jane will not believe me. She will only think that Sebastian and I are a team, and we have joined forces to deceive her. Maybe it was because I've said too much the last time, she has not even called me recently." i
Thinking of that, Sabrina felt a sense of misery in her heart. Her tone became even duller. "I don’t know if I could still see Jane again in this lifetime."
Sabrina did not have many friends. At best, there were only four of them. Therefore, she cherished all of her friends very much, especially Jane. When she first met Jane, Sabrina thought that she might die, might b e violated by others, and all sorts of other possibilities. However, Jane was the only one who had handed a bottle of water to her.
A bottle of water was not worth much. However, Sabrina remembered the kind of friendship they had. Sabrina was silent, and Alex was even more so.
