When Sabrina regained consciousness, she was already in the ambulance heading towards the hospital. Sabrina grabbed the doctor's hand. "Don’t, don't give me... Don't give me anaesthetics."
The doctor was speechless.
"I am pregnant, I want to keep my child. I have no more family, this baby will be my only remaining kin.
I beg you, don't... don't give me any anaesthetics." Sabrina begged.
Zayn didn't know what to say as well.
Finally, the doctor asked, "Will you be able to handle the pain from the operation?"
Sabrina said with a strong resolve, "I will!"
After the doctor allowed it, Sabrina was pushed into the surgery room.
Zayn, who was waiting outside, could hear the heart-wrenching cries of agony that came from inside the room.
It was more than an hour before a pale-faced, exhausted Sabrina was pushed out of the surgery room, drenched in sweat.
When she exited the room, she saw that Zayn had been waiting for her outside all this time.
"Thank you, Mr Smith, but you can go back now," Sabrina managed to say weakly.
Zayn replied, "How could I do that? You just had surgery, and on top of that you have a child in your stomach, how could you not have anyone taking care o f you?" i
Sabrina looked at Zayn, clearly distressed. "Mr Smith, can you tell me what you're trying to do? What do you need me to do for you? Or are you trying to toy with m e too?"
Upon hearing this, Zayn did not know what to say to Sabrina.
She had spent quite some time with Nigel, so Sabrina viewing him in the same way was understandable.
Zayn cleared his throat and assured Sabrina, "Don’t worry, I won’t ask for any repayment."
"Yes?"
"Will you forgive me?" he asked.
"I've never blamed you for what you did," said Sabrina, still smiling.
"Will you still be able to treat me as a friend in the future?" Nigel asked again.
I wont
Nigel didn’t know what to say to Sabrina’s cold words.
After a moment of thought, he frantically grabbed Sabrina's hand and pleaded earnestly. "I beg you Sabrina, give me a chance. I’ll take care of you for your entire life. I will treat you and the baby in your belly well. I will treat your child like my own.” Sabrina did not know whether to reply.
At that moment, the door to the ward swung open with a bang, and four people walked into the room. Leading the way were Nigel's parents, then the old master, Henry. Just behind them, Sebastian followed closely as they made their way in.
