Jane blinked. "What...what did you say?" “Come back!" Alex ordered. Actually, it was not an order. He was just anxious, feeling as if his heart was o n fire.

But to Jane’s ears, his tone translated into a form of fear. She immediately ended the call.

Sabrina was right. Jane would never call her again. Two weeks ago, when she was chased out of the house by Alex, Sabrina herself was in grave danger. And she remembered, back then, Alex had scolded her for causing trouble in the hospital, and as a result, Old Man Shaw caught hold of Sabrina's weakness.
