Old Master Shaw remained quiet as he only looked at Sabrina.
Sabrina asked him again, focusing on her question, " Old Master Shaw, are you clear on that now?"
The old man stuttered, "I... I am your grandfather..."
"What a jokester you are, Old Master Shaw. Can you let me finish?" Sabrina asked again.
Old Master Shaw was about to say something, but Marcus stopped him.
Marcus said to his grandfather solemnly, "Grandpa, you have been prejudiced against Sabrina for so long, s o you have to let her finish saying what she wants to say."
The old man nodded. "I know now that, back then, you had no choice."
"Great!" Sabrina laughed. "Later on, you heard that I seduced Nigel Connor. Then let me tell you right now, right from the start, Nigel was the one who was pursuing me; I never took the initiative with him.
"But later on, I was desperate; all of you supposed people of high society forced me, and I was going to die! Back then, Nigel was the only one who was nice to me, so I accepted him, but..."
At this point in her narration, Sabrina's expression
turned dark, and even her tone sounded incredibly lonely. "But I never expected that human nature could be so evil! Not even in my wildest dreams; I never would have dreamed of all the ways and means in which he played with me.
"Old Master Shaw, the high society that you mentioned time and time again... How clean, how noble do you think it is?
"That time, when Nigel Connor planned to play another new trick on me, your niece, Mindy, was also present! The supposed noble sons and daughters that you speak of, the entirety of your high society, was playing with me, a pregnant woman! I was so weak! You tell me, what should I have done!"
Old Master Shaw did not say a word.
At the mention of this incident, tears sprang into Sabrina's eyes. "Tell me, who should I have relied on!"
Sniffing, trying to force her tears back into her eyes, Sabrina continued, "I didn't have anyone to back me u p! I couldn’t rely on anyone! I thought Nigel was the one who treated me the best, but he was also just playing with me! Like a toy, I was kicked from person t o person!"
"Old Master Shaw, your misunderstanding and abuse toward me started six years ago and continued all the way till now. Six years ago, you weren't so bad, but now six years later, ever since you found your granddaughter Selene, your attitude toward me worsened, and every moment of every day, you were thinking of ways and means to force me to my death!
"You had a perfectly valid reason, and that was that I ruined your high society!
"Not only did I destroy all your connections in the entirety of high society, but most importantly, I harmed your granddaughter and her family. In your mind, I'm an evil woman, and that's why I did not even deserve to live, and that's why you wanted to dig out m y kidneys, am I right, Old Master Shaw?" Sabrina looked at the old man, her expression exceptionally calm.
Her words made the old man feel so ashamed he wished the earth would open up and swallow him whole.
His wizened face turned pale, then flushed red again. Finally, he admitted truthfully, "Sabbie, it's my fault! I admit to all my crimes!"
Sabrina said, "I just want to tell you one thing: you see now that I never harmed your granddaughter and her family; it was her and her family who had been framing me all along. They even admitted their own crimes. Do you see now?"
Old Master Shaw nodded weakly. "I...I do."
"So, from now on, can you let me go?" Sabrina asked sadly.
