Sabrina stood up and helped her mother up. "Alright, Mom."
Gloria heaved out a breath of relief. She looked at Lincoln, Jade and Selene who all lay on the floor in a pile of soft, weak, limbs then looked at Sebastian.
Sebastian immediately answered her, "Yes, Gloria?"
"Not only did my ex-husband imprison me, he even framed my daughter and used her. He has committed too much evil to be forgiven, both he and his wife are accomplices. And, his daughter Selene, she became a true murderer nine years ago. That's why the three of them should be incarcerated, only then can my daughter be avenged."
"Alright, Gloria!" Sebastian nodded.
"Come on, let's go." Gloria called out to Sebastian and Sabrina. She did not bother taking a single glance at the old, wizened Old Master Shaw, whose tears were streaming down his face. She further ignored Marcus Shaw and his parents.
"Gloria..." The old man's voice sounded ancient. "No matter what, you're still my daughter, my own flesh and blood. Even though you were born to your mother and not Marcus's grandmother, still, you’re my daughter."
Gloria looked helpless. "Old Master Shaw, do you think
this is possible? You say I’m your daughter, do you know which schools I have attended? Do you know I was accepted to music school when I was 16, but I had to give up on college because we couldn't afford it? You call me your daughter, but do you know I went to your wife countless times, asking for money? Not only did she reject me, she even called me a little b*tch? You say I'm your daughter, my mother and I tried so hard and saved up for two years, I was finally accepted into a teachers’ college that I liked, but my place was taken by someone else?" 1
Old Master Shaw opened his mouth wide, slack-jawed, but no words came out. Gloria shook her head, smiling casually, emotionlessly.
"Do you know why I ran away from home?"
Old Master Shaw immediately raised his head and looked at Gloria. "Tell me, I would like to know why you ran away from home. Your stepmother believed you were her daughter, you could’ve enjoyed a life of wealth and luxury in the Shaw family, so why did you run away? Just because your stepmother called you a little b*tch?"
The moment the words left his mouth, Marcus and his parents all turned to look at Gloria.
The old man had no choice but to reply, "Yes."
"Should you or should you not apologize to my daughter!"
Old Master Shaw closed his eyes slightly and nodded." Fine, just tell me, and then I'll apologize to your daughter." 1
At that moment, all Old Master Shaw cared about was finding out the truth about what happened all those years ago, why his daughter would suddenly run away from home when everything seemed to be going well.
The Shaw family had been looking for this daughter for more than 30 years!
Gloria frowned.
