As soon as the huge undead appeared, the other soldiers started hurtling their attacks at it but this time around the chip damage did not matter at all. The damage numbers that popped out of the attacks were extremely negligible.

"What is happening?"
"The attacks are not working?"
The soldiers started panicking. Lirae’s expression turned serious. She glanced at the soldiers next to her who were already pissing their pants in fear. She shook her head and then turned to Damon. "Blood Drinker, I can take down that monster in a single attack but I need a minute to prepare the attack. Can you hold on for a minute?"
"You better hurry." Damon nodded.
"I will do my best." Lirae answered with sincerity.
Damon was actually talking to the shadow clone since he had almost forgotten about the drop of blood he needed. The horde of the undead was also taken care of and Lirae had spent the whole time fighting from the back. This did not give him any chance to get the blood.
But now that this boss had shown up, it finally gave him the perfect chance. All he needed to do was...
Damon intentionally did not go all out with the undead abomination and only sparingly used his divine and holy skills.
He kept parrying and blocking the attack from the undead boss as he slowly inched backwards, getting closer and closer to the outpost main barricade where everyone was standing.
The undead abomination had a big club in its hand and it used nether infused attacks to strike Damon. Each strike was quite terrifying and its level 70 was no joke.
The mana core pulsed violently inside its ribcage with every swing, releasing waves of corrupted pressure that sent cracks through the ground and rattled the air like rolling thunder.
Damon winced as one of the swings scraped his shield, sending a jolt through his arm and rattling his bones. He let it happen.
He had to make it look real.
The undead’s strikes were destructive, but predictable. Damon knew how to dance with giants.
He drew it closer, step by step, dragging the fight toward the barricade where Lirae stood with the soldiers. "Hurry up!" Damon shouted again and Lirae quickly regained her composure. She gritted her teeth and began casting.
Soon, a huge ball of fire appeared in front of her. However, it was nothing like an ordinary fireball. The intensity of the raging flames was akin to a sun and it threatened to burn the very air around it.
Lirae lifted both hands toward the swirling inferno, her lips moving in an ancient incantation that didn’t match any known elemental chant Damon had heard. Her aura flared wildly, gold and white embers rising like feathers caught in a solar wind. Soldiers nearby instinctively stepped back, shielding their eyes from the searing brilliance.
The orb of fire pulsed once, twice, then began condensing, shrinking in size but growing impossibly dense, as if she were compressing a star into the palm of her hand. This was clearly the most difficult step of the attack and it was exactly at this time that the undead came shockingly close to the outpost.
Lirae grit her teeth to keep her focus when a shadow clone silently materialized next to her, rising from her shadow. While everyone’s focus was fixated on the hulking abomination, the shadow clone swiftly made a small scratch at the back of Lirae’s neck on her milky white skin.
Damon immediately blinked right next to Lirae and casted a divine shield, preventing any damage from reacing her. Without missing a beat he absorbed the drop of blood smoothly.
Damon’s grin was hidden behind the golden light of his [Divine Shield], which shimmered protectively around both him and Lirae. Perfectly timed. Perfectly clean.
Lirae could no longer hold her massive attack. She had no choice but to release it. The big ball of intense fire shuddered as her concentration wavered, then launched with a thunderous boom, tearing through the corrupted sky like a falling comet.
The orb exploded into a massive wave of fire midair, raw, uncontrolled, and roaring with fury as it descended onto the undead abomination. Even with the corruption smothering the surroundings, the heat from the impact seared the battlefield, turning the very air to flame.

Howling in rage, the abomination charged towards the outpost straight at Lirae, its hollow eyes fixed on her. The elven woman trembled in fear.
She had no strength left after using everything in the sunfire attack. Tears seeped down her eyes. It was clear that she was going to die now and there was no one coming to save her.
"Father... I am going to die... are you still angry with me? Will you still not look at me?"
The abomination raised its club ready to smash her into a meat pizza but the blow never landed. When Lirae opened her eyes to see, she saw the hulking abomination staggering and the club in its hand knocked out.
Damon swung his sword again landing attack after attack non-stop at the mini-boss. It was a grind but he swiftly whittled down the last of the undead’s health.
"You are not dying on my watch, princess." He chuckled. None of the nether debuffs affected him so he was happily able to continue slaughtering the abomination. Finally, after a last roar of defiance, the abomination collapsed backward with a sickening crunch, its corrupted mana core shattering into a mist of black and violet particles.
