Apart from that face, Ye Tong has always been quite confident about all other aspects of herself. She firmly believed that, in terms of both ability and everything else, Shaohua simply couldn’t compare with her.
In her eyes, Shaohua was the epitome of "all that glisters is not gold"; apart from her face, there was nothing that could match up to Ye Tong.
Although Doctor Nan was just a doctor, his legendary status was too prominent, even someone of Rong Lie’s standing held him in high regard.
To Ye Tong, Doctor Nan was an awe-inspiring figure she couldn’t hope to interact with.
That Shaohua could come into contact with such a person was, to Ye Tong, a huge joke.
Thinking about Shaohua’s face, Ye Tong couldn’t help but think maliciously. Shaohua’s only redeeming feature was probably that face, and she speculated nastily about the reasons behind Shaohua’s familiarity with Doctor Nan.
Listening to the conversations of the medical staff filled with admiration for Shaohua, Ye Tong still felt an unprecedented sense of inferiority and loss.
Subconsciously, her gaze drifted towards Rong Lie, and, as expected, she saw a look of astonishment on his face.
Compared to Ye Tong, Su Lan was the most shocked of all.
Her mind was buzzing, she couldn’t listen to a single word, her thoughts overwhelmed by three big characters – "Ye Shaohua".
By the time they returned to the Ye Family residence, Su Lan was still in a daze.

Several days later, Mu Xingzhi had found all the medicinal ingredients Shaohua needed, and she was ready to commence the potion preparation.
She shared her general ideas with Doctor Nan.
The Ye Family wanted her to come back for dinner, and as it happened, Shaohua also wanted to check on the old master’s health, so she returned.
Upon returning, Shaohua felt Su Lan’s enthusiasm was eerie.
She furrowed her brows and took a step away from Su Lan.
Su Lan smiled awkwardly,
Then her face darkened again.
The old master gave Su Lan a glance.
When it was time to eat, Su Lan couldn’t help but blurt out, "Ye Shaohua, what exactly do you want!"
"How do you know Doctor Nan?" Ye Tong asked Ye Shaohua in a mild tone, but her voice carried a hint of sarcasm.
Shaohua didn’t respond to her.
Her cellphone pinged.
Ye Tong, with sharp eyes, caught the three large characters on the screen – Doctor Nan!
"I’ll be right there." Shaohua listened to a few words from Doctor Nan and immediately hung up, having learned that the new laboratory was ready.
She couldn’t be bothered with Ye Tong.
As Shaohua hurried away, Ye Tong remarked faintly, "Is it comfortable, climbing up the ladder using just your face? Actually, you’re not unwilling to speak to Doctor Nan, it’s just that you can’t get him to move for you anymore, right?"
Ye Tong scoffed; she absolutely didn’t believe that if Shaohua was really that close with Doctor Nan, she wouldn’t show off in the Ye Family.
Shaohua’s current discretion in not allowing Doctor Nan to treat her just proved that she couldn’t really influence Doctor Nan; those doctors’ and nurses’ words in the hospital were probably all lies.
To be honest, it took Shaohua a moment to catch on to Ye Tong’s meaning, and she couldn’t help but slip her hand into her pocket and smiled slightly, "Well, it’s actually pretty comfortable."
After saying that, she left the Ye Family residence.
