Sorry for Your Loss It's Me I'm the Loss novel Chapter 758

Emma seemed satisfied with his answer but wasn't entirely convinced. "In that case, I'll have my assistant make an appointment with a doctor for you two. It's best to get a check-up, just in case there are any issues that need to be addressed."

Bennett hadn't expected her to push it this far and quickly cut her off. "Mom, Yvonne and I are young and healthy. I guarantee there's nothing wrong. We haven't even started trying yet, and you're already sending me for tests. Anyone would think I have a problem."

"You brat, stop talking nonsense," Emma huffed, shooting him a glare, but she finally dropped the subject of a medical check-up.

Emma had an appearance scheduled for the afternoon, which was why she had rushed over in the morning.

Bennett patiently endured the rest of the visit until he finally saw his mother out.

He walked Emma downstairs and waited until her car drove away before heading back up.

When Bennett returned to the apartment, Yvonne was sitting in the dining area, eating breakfast.

He washed his hands and sat down across from her, joining her for the meal.

Yvonne served him a bowl of soup and teased with a smile, "Mr. Bennett Thompson, not even married yet and already being pressured to have a baby."

Bennett just smiled without saying anything, letting the topic drop. He clearly didn't want to put any pressure on her.

Bennett was already in his thirties, and many of his peers were already fathers. It wasn't that he wasn't eager, but he respected Yvonne's feelings above all else.

Yvonne had only been teasing, so she let the subject go as well.

They hadn't been intimate for very long, and Bennett was usually careful to use protection, though there were a few times he'd lost control. On those occasions, Yvonne hadn't taken anything afterward, but she hadn't gotten pregnant either.

"Go get ready. Helen has already made breakfast. After we eat, we'll head to City Hall," Bennett said.

While Yvonne went to the dining room for breakfast, Bennett double-checked all the necessary paperwork for the marriage license. His special status required a lot of documentation, but after a thorough review, he confirmed everything was in order and sealed the file folder.

After breakfast, they left together. Yvonne was also wearing a white shirt, paired with a long red skirt. Her hair was down, held back simply with a single clip, giving her a clean, fresh-faced look.

Bennett drove them to a nearby municipal building. They arrived early, before it had opened, but there were already many young couples lined up at the entrance.

It was indeed a popular day for weddings. Although the doors weren't officially open, a staff member was already waiting outside for them. Bennett had arranged everything in advance.

Bennett took Yvonne's hand, and they walked up the steps to the building together. The staff member spotted them immediately and came forward with a welcoming smile.
