She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 86

With Purity leading the charge, the rest of the conference attendees quickly piled on.

“Yeah! How does someone like her get invited to the Shapiro estate to treat Lucian?”

“Bet her invitation is fake.”

“Security, what are you waiting for? Get her out of here.”

The word fake made the guards exchange a look. Then one of them stepped forward, still polite.

“Miss, may I see your invitation?”

Everyone knew Loyce had shown up at the Shapiro estate last time in a hurry. She’d been brought in on the spot because of a medication sale, not because she’d been formally invited.

Purity had calculated that Loyce wouldn’t have an invitation at all. Inviting her over today was never about “professional exchange”—it was about humiliating her in public, slapping the real target behind her, Marcella, and warning Marcella to stay out of her money-making business.

But Loyce wouldn’t have come without insurance. She calmly reached into her pocket and produced an envelope.

It didn’t look like anyone else’s. The card stock was a bold red, bordered in gold foil, and the lettering wasn’t printed like the others—it was handwritten, the strokes sharp and powerful.

The guard took it, checked it carefully…and his face changed instantly.

People began whispering. “Is something wrong with it?”

Fernand seized the moment and raised his voice. “Of course she doesn’t have a real invitation! Marcella killed a patient and now she’s teaching her apprentice to be a con artist. She’s a disgrace to medicine!”
