Sybil turned to Leroy, her face completely devoid of emotion. "My dear brother, it's about time you learned how to survive and make money with your own two hands."
Leroy instinctively looked at Loyce, a silent plea in his eyes.
Loyce merely chuckled softly. "You should listen to your sister. After all, if you decide to cross me, you won't get the luxury of surviving with your own two hands."
The smile that didn't reach her eyes sent a violent shiver down Leroy's spine. He had witnessed this woman's terrifying ruthlessness firsthand. Any rebellious teenage arrogance he once possessed had long been beaten out of him. He didn't dare say another word.
From there, the police investigation moved at lightning speed.
In the detention center, Alicia and Edgar were losing their minds with anxiety. Alicia kept trying to comfort herself. "Sybil is just throwing a tantrum. Once she cools down, she'll realize we're all in the same boat. I'm her mother! She'll definitely retract her statement."
Her delusions didn't last long. The married couple, facing a laundry list of catastrophic charges alongside several complicit Macrostar executives, were swiftly dragged into court.
Sybil took the stand as the star witness, with Larry acting as her counsel. The entire Lonsdale family sat in the gallery, alongside the grieving, furious relatives of the victims from the Yavon County trafficking ring.
Seeing Sybil officially betray her and align with Loyce, Alicia completely lost her mind in the courtroom. She lunged forward, trying to murder the daughter she had raised.
"Ahhh! Sybil! You treacherous bitch! I broke my back raising you, and this is how you repay me?! You teamed up with Loyce! You teamed up with that slut!!"
A foaming Alicia was violently shoved back into the defendant's chair by the bailiffs.
Watching coldly from the gallery, the corners of Loyce's mouth curved into a sharp smile.
Between Sybil's damning testimony, the public outrage of the victims' families, and the sheer legal firepower of Larry, the trial was a bloodbath. Alicia was utterly obliterated. Due to the heinous nature of the mass murders and trafficking, she was sentenced to the highest penalty available—death row—while being stripped of all political rights and having all personal assets seized.
While Edgar hadn't directly orchestrated the murders, he was an accomplice after the fact. Furthermore, by aggressively ignoring warnings and preventing the evacuation of the A7 and A8 parcels, he was found liable for massive casualties. He was sentenced to life in prison, with all his assets confiscated.
However, because the Lonsdale family produced the authentic will, the court ruled that Macrostar Production was not Edgar's personal property, but rightfully belonged to Loyce. The company was officially transferred to her name.
After a lifetime of ruthless scheming to climb to the apex of society, Edgar and his family were left with absolutely nothing, abandoned and despised by everyone.
Edgar slumped in his chair, drained of every ounce of strength.
Leveraging Larry's immense influence, the judge granted Sybil and Loyce permission for one final, private conversation with the couple.
Sybil went first. Rolling her wheelchair into the visitation room, she was immediately met with a barrage of vile curses from Alicia, who accused her of being a soulless monster trying to execute her own mother.
