Yolene dramatically clutched her chest. "Don't spread rumors! I've been working out in rural areas, doing charity. I've been doing animal rescue work to make up for my mistakes. I have deeply reflected on my past."
Renee scoffed. "Is that so? Well, no amount of reflecting is going to save you." She glanced at the garment bag the assistant was clutching. "Because you messed with someone you shouldn't have, and clearly, you still haven't learned your lesson."
"Messed with who? I've been doing nothing but charity work, and you guys still won't let it go?"
Renee didn't say Loyce's name, but the sheer arrogance on Yolene's face proved that she wasn't scared of Loyce anymore.
Right on cue, the assistant stepped forward and offered a sickeningly sweet bow to Flavia. "I'm so sorry, Flavia. I shouldn't have shoved you away to protect the dress. I know you didn't mean to fall on me. I apologize. Please stop giving Yolene a hard time."
Renee was itching to slap the smug look off the woman's face, but just then, Holt hurried over. He grabbed Renee's arm, giving her a warning look. "This isn't the time to pick fights. Hair and makeup are waiting. We barely have any time left."
Renee tried to yank her arm away, but Holt's grip was firm. She glared at Yolene one last time. "You hold onto her," Renee told Holt.
With Holt supporting Flavia, they started walking away. Renee glanced back at the triumphant expressions on Yolene and her assistant's faces. "Yolene," she sneered, "you're such a massive idiot you don't even realize the kind of trouble you're in. That's why you keep making these braindead mistakes."
Yolene smiled sweetly. "My conscience is completely clear."
As soon as they were out of earshot, Yolene's smile vanished. She turned to her assistant. "Go to the security room. Slip them some cash and have them delete the surveillance footage."
The assistant looked confused. "Why?"
Yolene let out a cold laugh. "I've learned from my mistakes. You can't leave any evidence behind. Besides, you did push her, right?"
