She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 488

"It's not a complete disaster. We can substitute the fabric, though the final look will definitely be a gamble." Jean was still completely unaware of the plagiarism crisis and rattled off a list of potential alternative materials.

Loyce thought for a moment. "I have a private, offshore vault. Are you available for a trip?"

"Huh? Uh, sure, I guess." Jean was slightly taken aback. "Um... you want me to travel overseas?"

Loyce confirmed. "The location is highly classified, and it's only accessible by water. A round trip will probably take about a week. Go through the inventory there and see if you can find any fabrics we can use."

Jean blinked. "You... collect fabrics?"

Loyce offered a faint smile. "Anything that is exceptionally expensive or beautiful eventually finds its way into my private collection. You could call it a minor hobby of mine. You should be able to find a far superior substitute there. I want The Spring Collection to completely transcend the original design sketches, even without the Yavon Loom Factory. I want absolute perfection."

Jean knew this was a monumental task. She was well aware that the Yavon Loom Factory held an absolute monopoly in terms of geography and industry connections. Getting their hands on a better fabric would be nearly impossible—unless Loyce had some truly legendary, vintage haute couture textiles locked away.

She hesitated, unable to make any guarantees. "I'll do my absolute best, but I still think we should make a trip down to Yavon County. There might be smaller, independent textile mills that produce this material in limited batches."

Loyce replied, "I will personally handle Yavon County. Your only mission is to get to my vault and bring back exactly what The Spring Collection needs."

Hanging up the phone, Lucian finally found an opening to interject. "Yavon County has a long history of being incredibly dangerous. I'm not comfortable with you going there alone."

The SUV slowed to a halt at a red light.

"I'm not going there for the fabric. I'm looking into something else. Bringing a massive entourage will only draw unwanted attention," Loyce explained, looking over at him.

"I'm going with you." Lucian reached over and gently pinched her cheek, half-joking. "You're my girlfriend now. You can't shake me off."

They stared at each other for a long moment before Lucian's eyes darkened slightly. He lowered his hand. "Is that a no?"
