She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 483

"Jasyn will terminate your contract immediately! The company reserves the absolute right to pursue you for every single cent of the penalty fees and financial damages you've caused! Now, get the hell out of my office! Right now! Stop polluting my air!"

Yolene lay paralyzed on the floor. It was as if her soul had been violently ripped from her body, leaving her to stare into an abyss of endless, suffocating darkness.

...

In the recording studio, the candidates for the lead singer position had all arrived.

Finn watched Loyce walk straight into the control room and couldn't resist mocking Holt. "What's the meaning of bringing this Loyce woman here? Are you banking on her—or rather, the power of Hank Lonsdale behind her—to help you mount a comeback?"

Holt shot him an icy glare, his voice sharp and absolute. "I told you before, I would never stoop to using dirty tricks. That's the difference between you and me."

Both of their eyes tracked Loyce.

To Finn's shock, the moment she stepped into the control room, the notoriously arrogant, high-strung senior music producers practically leaped out of their chairs. Their faces lit up with enthusiastic, almost fawning smiles as they eagerly shook her hand, practically escorting her to the center seat—the prime monitoring position reserved for the head judge.

Loyce, who had only intended to observe, found a scoring clipboard and a pen shoved into her hands, instantly promoted to a judge on the spot.

One of the senior producers laughed warmly. "If we had known you were coming, we would have handed this entire decision over to you in a heartbeat."

Separated by the soundproof glass, Finn couldn't hear the exact words, but the blatant reverence and admiration plastered on their faces made his stomach drop. A dark premonition rapidly spread through his veins.

He recognized those men. They were all heavyweights in the industry, men who sat on the panel of judges for top-tier global competitions like Steinway. Yet right now, they were treating Loyce with borderline worship. What the hell was going on?

Finally, Loyce took her seat at the center monitor. The people hovering around her were, coincidentally, the very same veteran musicians who had judged her at the Steinway competition. They all vividly remembered her flawless, transcendent performance and approached her with a mix of awe and flattery.

Finn cursed internally. That seat was reserved for the person who had the ultimate say over who became the lead singer.

He immediately strode over to the glass partition and knocked on the window, gesturing for the audio feed between the recording booth and the control room to be turned on.

Before the vocal battles even started, Finn was already protesting, insisting the competition was rigged.
