She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 469

Lately, as they both recovered at the estate, Loyce had been coming in regularly to check Forrest's vitals, ensuring the toxins hadn't left any lingering damage.

Loyce pushed the door open and stepped inside. "Are you having a headache over microchips?"

Forrest now knew exactly the insane, life-threatening lengths his sister had gone to for him. The absolute last thing he wanted was for his corporate headaches to burden her. "It's nothing major. Just a deal that fell through. What about you? How is your leg?"

"Practically healed. The meds and supplements they've been pumping into me work wonders. Give it another week, and I'll be walking normally," Loyce smiled, sitting on the edge of his bed. "Talk to me. I want to know what kind of trouble you're in."

Forrest still didn't want to tell her the truth. However, as soon as that meeting ended, his next board meeting immediately began ringing in.

Loyce sat comfortably beside him. "Mind if I sit in?"

Forrest couldn't say no to her. Figuring that merely listening in wouldn't lead to her doing anything world-shattering, he agreed and answered the video call.

The screen instantly split into over a dozen small windows. The faces staring back belonged to the core board members and top executives of the Lonsdale Group. Every single person looked grim. A suffocating pressure radiated through the screen.

The moment the meeting started, the Vice President overseeing the semiconductor division delivered a heavy report. "Mr. Lonsdale, it's worse than we thought. Citing 'potential military application risks' due to the Emerald Strait situation, the Federal States of Concordia hasn't just cut off our high-end military chips. They've also blacklisted the critical commercial chips we rely on! Their excuse is that we might 'dismantle' and 'repurpose' them."

Another board member slammed his hand on his desk, enraged. "That's a blatant lie! It's highway robbery! They know the Emerald Strait situation has us cornered and desperate for semiconductor reserves. They're trying to force us into their black-market channels at a 300% markup!"

"We just got word from Basil," another executive added, his face ashen. "We just sank tens of billions into the tech park. Three of our primary production lines are already half-shut down due to the chronic core chip shortage. If we don't find a localized alternative or fix the supply chain in two weeks, that entire initial investment goes up in smoke... The stock is already tanking."
