They didn’t think much of it. It never occurred to them that any of it had to do with Loyce.
After announcing Quiana and Keegan’s engagement, Marshall spoke to Keegan with forced politeness. “I heard you secured a two-billion-dollar project with the Lonsdale family. Could you bring the Sampson family in on it?”
Keegan grinned, all swagger. “I was thinking the same thing. The investment is huge, though, I still need to finalize the terms with the Lonsdales. But you can come with me. I’ll put in a good word.”
Marshall beamed. “Perfect! Thank you!”

Downtown Metropia, Serenity Manor.
In a city where land cost more than gold, a mountain rose at the center of it all. Serenity Manor sat there like a private kingdom. Only four estates sat in the prime area, with a few smaller homes scattered around the edges. Each residence was built like its own private estate—isolated, quiet, with top-tier views. The price tags were obscene. Only the country’s wealthiest people lived here.
Loyce had been here once before when she came to treat Lucian.
The helicopter landed on a pad near the entrance to a vineyard. The moment Loyce stepped down, two neat rows of staff and security stood at attention and shouted in unison, “Welcome home, Miss!”
Hank came down behind her. “Grandpa bought this place years ago. He planned to bring you here for vacations. But after you went missing, it became… painful. Nobody wanted to come back and be reminded. So we rarely used it. A branch relative’s wife has been managing it.”
Loyce nodded. “Got it.”
Hank watched her steady expression and felt a sting in his chest. “Everything you lost… we will make it up to you.”
