She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 33

Loyce’s face turned puzzled. She closed the piano and stood. “You’ve got the wrong person.”

Morris came back to himself and glanced at her student ID. Her name was printed clearly.

Loyce Sampson…

Their grandfather was at the hospital waiting on the DNA results, and the girl’s name was Loyce Sampson, too. Morris was convinced this time he hadn’t made a mistake. That level of musical ability, that face—she fit the Lonsdale bloodline perfectly.

But even as excitement surged, he remembered Lucian’s warning: until it was confirmed, he couldn’t claim her. If he was wrong, he’d only hurt her.

He swallowed it down and stepped forward, gentle again. “Sorry. I got carried away. You look a lot like my sister. I’ve never heard that piece. Did you write it?”

Loyce shook her head. “No. I found a damaged score and reconstructed part of it.”

Morris was stunned. Pieces that needed reconstruction were usually works by masters from a century ago. These were often paper copies and were badly ruined. Restoring them wasn’t easy.

“You did the reconstruction yourself?”

“Yes,” Loyce said. “Why?”

Morris shook his head. “No reason. Just… you’re impressive.”

“It’s fine.” Loyce called him out calmly. “I’m not in your league, Mr. Lonsdale.”

Morris blinked. “You know who I am?”

Loyce didn’t know what to say to that. “Do you have any idea how famous you are? Anyone who knows even a little music would recognize you.”
