She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 193

Loyce had been busy lately. After acing her final exams and completing her coursework with a perfect record, she decided to apply for early graduation and start a master's program. She hadn't settled on a university yet, so she put the thought aside for the time being.

A call came in from one of the pharmacists at Blossom Drugstore. His voice was a mixture of excitement and exhaustion. “I don’t know what’s happened, but we’re being flooded with patients who want to see Marcella. The waiting list is already a month long! We’re completely swamped. Loyce, please, we need help! Or at least convince Marcella to hire more people.”

“That’s good news,” Loyce said. “I’ll come in today to help with consultations. Hiring is a process, so we can discuss that later.”

Loyce rode her motorcycle to Blossom Drugstore, arriving just after 8 a.m. to find the place already packed.

After parking, she walked inside and noticed several tripods and cameras set up in the consultation area, with two technicians fiddling with the equipment.

“What’s all this?” she asked.

The pharmacist came over. “It’s the CEO of a media company. Marcella cured his chronic back pain, and he wanted to give her a large sum of money to expand the drugstore. She politely declined, so today he sent his team to try out their new concept: live-streamed online consultations. He said it’s a way to treat patients and make money through streaming.”

Loyce was intrigued. “The elderly aren’t going to understand any of this. Let me give it a try. It’s on TikTok, right? I have an account.”

A staff member from the media company was there to assist. After helping Loyce log into her account, he politely explained the platform's rules.

The platform had policies to support new creators. When a new account went live, it received an automatic traffic boost, pushing it to a 'newbie' section for a set period. Whether the viewers stayed, however, depended on the streamer's own abilities.

Loyce knew a thing or two about streaming. Most of the viral streams relied on drama, theatrics, or flaunting wealth to attract viewers and gifts.

She glanced at the live feed, then tilted the camera down, focusing it on her hands, the diagnostic tools on the table, and the small sign with the Blossom Drugstore logo.

Her slender hands were captivating on screen; even the staff member found himself staring. “Our CEO gave special instructions for your account,” he added. “You’ll be getting double the traffic of a normal new streamer. Just get a feel for it and see if you’re comfortable with this format.”

Loyce nodded. “Okay.”

As soon as she went live, viewers began trickling in.

[Peachesy has entered the stream.]

Loyce was about to offer a standard welcome, like other streamers.

[Peachesy: Loyce? The girl who was at the bottom of our class?]

Loyce was surprised. She didn't recognize the name. “Who is this?”

[Peachesy: LOL! You, a doctor? Did you forget we followed each other in high school? You never changed your profile picture or your name. I’d know it was you even without seeing your face.]

[Peachesy has shared the stream.]
