She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 119

Sure enough, people in the audience were already posting clips of the incident on social media. The headlines were sensational: #Heiress Flops At Recital, #Plagiarism Scandal Exposed.

Lucian let out a low chuckle. "Sly fox."

Loyce glanced at him but didn't object to the nickname. Foxes were cunning, after all, and she took it as a compliment.

...

As the recital drew to a close, Lucian received a call that made his expression turn grave, and he left early.

Loyce waited for the recital to end so she could go home for dinner with Morris.

As she stood to leave, Logan, who was sitting a few rows behind, suddenly called out to her. "Ms. Lonsdale, please wait."

Loyce turned with a smile. "Yes?"

"May I have a word with you?" Logan asked.

Loyce raised an eyebrow. "Of course."

They used Morris's private dressing room to talk. Logan's earlier condescension toward Loyce was gone, replaced by a cautious respect. "Ms. Lonsdale," he began seriously, "this piece was actually composed by you, wasn't it? The piano music I heard in the Lonsdale library that day… that was you playing."

Loyce leaned back into the soft sofa. "It was."
