Shortly after, God's Punisher Spaceship and the two newly acquired Gods' spaceships, renamed Le Soleil and La Luna by Nathan, were ready for takeoff.
The fifty space pirate spaceships led by Toothless were also ready for takeoff.
But when it was time to leave, Nathan turned to Toothless and asked, “Do you trust me, Toothless?”
Toothless was a tad perplexed, uncertain why Nathan would ask such a question. He instinctively answered, “Of course I trust you, Master. Otherwise, I wouldn't have pledged my loyalty to you.”
Nathan nodded. “Actually, I have a task that I want to entrust to you, but I'm afraid you might be worried.”
“I'm at your service, Master!” Toothless vowed.
Nathan started, “I'm thinking that there are still many pirates in the universe, betrayed and cast adrift, struggling to survive in the crevices of the cosmos. They possess combat power! But their living conditions are harsh, and they yearn for the day they can return to peace. You're the renowned King of Space Pirates. If you were to persuade them to join us, who knows, we might be able to expand our ranks and boost our combat power. But... would you be willing to do that? If not, forget it.”
When Toothless heard that, the first thing that came to his mind was that persuading other pirates wouldn't be an issue.
But if he were to do so, he would have to leave Nathan and the main force.
That essentially meant that he would be handing total control of his spaceships to Nathan.
On top of that, there was also a risk of being marginalized by the man.
The main fleet of the pirate crew he had been controlling for so long was also the foundation of his standing.
Seeking refuge with Nathan was one thing.
Entrusting all of his assets to the man was a whole different matter.
He instinctively resisted doing so.
Even the commander-in-chief, Torii, had fallen in battle.
He lost his composure, something that rarely occurred. “Impossible! This is absolutely impossible! Toothless and his pirates don't have that much capabilities. They could possibly never defeat Steel Wings!”
Digby knelt on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Our God's Punisher Spaceship appeared at the hands of the pirates, Your Majesty. It was precisely because the pirates ambushed our fleet with it that led to our fleet's crushing defeat. General Torii has also fallen.”
Upon hearing that, Medille was both shocked and furious.
“Sure enough, those d*mned scoundrels were the ones who stole my God's Punisher Spaceship! Issue my command! All God fleet's leaves are suspended. Everyone is to take turns to set out soon to annihilate these d*mned pirates and retrieve God's Punisher Spaceship.”
“Understood!” the commanders of the various God fleets present replied in unison.
