Nathan and Colin dashed into the forest at lightning speed, and the further they ventured into the mountains, the more complex the terrain became.
Since the two men hailed from the North Army, they were in their element in the mountains and quickly shook off the God Warriors pursuing them, albeit only for the time being.
However, as they continued moving forward, a blur suddenly appeared before their eyes.
A figure emerged, as elusive as a ghost and brandishing a lightsword. The next second, he struck a blow toward Nathan at breakneck speed.
Not only was the strike a sneak attack, but it was also terrifyingly fast.
If it had been anyone else, they probably wouldn't even have time to react before being split in half by the lightsword.
Nathan, however, was swift as lightning and reacted reflexively as soon as the attacker appeared.
Swoosh!
He raised his left hand, and a flash of white light shot out from his sleeve like a flurry of snowflakes dancing in the air.
It was none other than Snowsphere!
Since Nathan was even faster than the enemy, Snowsphere drew first blood, its sharp blade effortlessly slicing open the enemy's throat.
“Argh!”
After letting out a miserable groan, the enemy dropped his lightsword on the ground as he clutched his neck with both hands.
It didn't take long before he collapsed in agony, blue blood gushing wildly from his mouth and the wound on his neck.
Nathan frowned. It's the Gods again!
“Why are there so many Gods?” Colin muttered anxiously.
Before Nathan could reply, a strange noise echoed in the distance as if more God Warriors were fast approaching.
“It feels like we've walked into a trap,” Nathan whispered. “I suppose we're surrounded by them now... Given my powers, I have nothing to fear. Even if I can't wipe them out, I can easily escape. The one I'm worried about is you. You may be pretty strong, but facing these vampires is still far too dangerous.”
With that, Nathan turned around and deliberately headed toward the direction of the noise.
Soon, two God Warriors with lightswords in their hands appeared before Nathan.
Upon seeing the latter, the two warriors tensed up and simultaneously revealed their true forms—humanoid beings with octopus heads.
By then, they were both on their guard as they gripped their lightswords and stared Nathan down.
On top of that, one of them also stealthily activated the device on his left wrist, thus sending a signal for the surrounding God Warriors to provide support.
Needless to say, Nathan had stopped running.
With his hands clasped behind his back, he gazed at the two warriors before him with a cold smirk. “I heard from the space squad a while ago that the Gods might secretly land on Earth. I had brushed it off as a false alarm, but who knew you monsters actually showed up? Was it Pope Eugene who betrayed me by telling you my whereabouts? Is that why you've come to ambush me?”
The two God Warriors exchanged glances, neither of them uttering a word. They were facing a formidable enemy and needed to stay on high alert.
Meanwhile, Alden and Cassandra were rushing toward their location with several other God Warriors in tow...
