Nathan said in a deep voice, “Sevan! I just got back. We humans have already triumphed over the vampires, so I came to see you. How are you feeling now?”
Sevan hurriedly approached Nathan. “Master, it really is you. You've defeated the vampires and returned alive. This is wonderful.”
Nathan looked at Sevan, who was so thin that he was all skin and bones. The former then instructed, “Open the door, Francis. I want to talk to him face to face.”
Francis and the others were greatly shocked and terrified. “Mr. Cross, you absolutely must not. If he suddenly lashes out and harms someone, we would be inescapably responsible for the consequences.”
Nathan said coldly, “He is my subordinate, my friend, my brother, and you could even say he is my family. He became like this, all for us humans, to defeat the vampires. What's the harm in meeting him and having a chat? Open the door!”
Francis still didn't dare to do so.
Colin spoke coldly. “This is Mr. Cross' order. Are you going to defy it?”
Not only was Nathan the real boss of Cross Group, but he was also the president.
In the end, Francis didn't dare to disobey. He had no choice but to follow Nathan's orders and open the titanium gate.
The moment the door opened, Sevan burst forth like a ghost, as swift as the wind and as fast as lightning.
The sight terrified Francis and the others, making them feel as if their souls were fleeing their bodies. They thought Sevan could no longer control his desires and was about to embark on a killing spree.
However, what was unexpected was that after Sevan shot out, he arrived in front of Nathan, kneeled down with a thud, and respectfully called out, “Master.”
Nathan helped Sevan to his feet, sighing. “You've become so worn out. You must've had a hard time lately.”
In front of Nathan, Sevan was very obedient. He sincerely replied, “Yes, Master!”
Nathan asked Francis, “Are you implying that the chances of curing Sevan are slim?”
Francis said, “It's not exactly like that, but it does require time and his cooperation. As long as our research team can overcome the challenges, we can produce a potent serum and cure him. However, we can't tell how long it'll take. It could be a year or half a year, or it could take five to ten years.”
Upon hearing that, Sevan was devastated and angrily retorted, “What? Are you really saying it may take ten years? I may as well be dead, then. Who knows what I'll become if you torment me for another decade.”
Francis was afraid of Sevan. He dared not make a sound and could only look toward Nathan.
Nathan patted Sevan's shoulder. “Don't speak out of anger. I guess you've been locked up for so long you're almost going mad. Let's go. I'll accompany you for a walk to breathe in some fresh air from outside. You can make a serious decision once your mind is calm and composed.”
