Beep! Beep!
Using mana to charge her phone, Ami called the government and asked for help.
It was just….
"Miss Ami, you choose to abandon the country even when things are not very difficult and refused to help us, why should we help you at this time?"
The officials were pissed off when they found out that Ami was still alive.
This soul magician was once said to be the kindest returnees among all the returnees who came back. Because many other returnees were usually very demanding and asked for a lot of things from their respective government or association behind them.
What Ami needed was special.
She only needed these people to kill magic beasts in front of her so that she could absorb their 'soul.' It was actually more appropriate to say that she was absorbing their mana upon their death, but Ami didn't explain too clearly.
So in a way, she looked like she was easier to satisfy among the other returnees.
In the beginning, she did make many people like her.
Such an easy to please returnee was something that they couldn't imagine to dream at all before.
Just looking at Nalan and Navi had already told them how annoying these returnees could be. Each and every single one of them have their own demands and this made the officials from all continents very busy.
Continent Z could be said the one who 'suffered' the most.
There were a total 5 returnees in their territory alone.
Each and every single one of these returnees definitely will ask for something in return for the knowledge and resourced they handed over. Even though they might pay attention to the severity of their actions, but they would never refuse the resources given to them.
If anything, they would try to ask for more whenever it was possible.
So the officials were used to these returnees asking for things.
They both loved and hated these returnees for these reasons. After all, they could get some things that they could never obtain normally through these returnees.
Yet at the time, they had to pay a huge price to obtain it.
"What do you want?" Ami sneered.
For people in Continent Y, profit is above everything else.
She had lived in this continent for a long time and knew how selfish those people were. The officials were drinking and eating to their fill while the people below were living in a life full of hardship.
They were unable to do anything due to the huge disparity in social status and power.
Even if they wanted to protest, no one would listen to them.
She didn't have any sense of belonging to Continent Y. For her entire life, she was working hard like a dog at the bottom, so she felt no remorse when she saw them suffer under the attack of these magic beasts.
Yes.
She could still see what happened outside after becoming a soul body.
No one could see her and she couldn't really roam too far away from her body nor could she stay outside for that long, but she still watched as these people suffered the attack of various magic beasts.
Those people who used to be lofty and arrogant were screaming in fear.
When the entire base fall, who would have time to protect them?
