Liam was escorted by a bodyguard into the VIP room.
A man with a forceful aura was sitting on a leather couch. He was dressed in a black suit, emitting a cold vibe from his brows and eyes. Even without uttering a word, his presence was enough to intimidate anyone.
His gaze landed on four-year-old Liam.
"I've told you, you can't go out without permission. Got it?"
Liam with his haughty posture, responded, "I just went for a walk. Is that not allowed?"
"Nope."
Jasper's cold voice echoed; his gaze as icy as a chilling wind.
He stood up and walked towards Liam, "Do you know how many people are out there watching you? Do you know what awaits you if you rush out?"
"No clue!"
Liam turned his head away.
His thoughts wandered back to the woman he just met. Once he got the news about her, he planned to sneak out again...
"Jasper, don't be mad."
A woman on the couch stood up and said gently. She was in a red dress, her curvy figure and exquisite makeup made her radiant.
The woman squatted in front of Liam, "Liam, your dad's just worried about you, that's why he's mad. Could you be a good boy and listen to him, not going out randomly?"
"No way! Why should I listen to you?"
Liam abruptly pushed the woman's hand away.
The woman, Mellisa, withdrew her hand in the air, tears suddenly streaming down her face, "Liam, I'm your mom, how could you treat me like this... I carried you for eight months, suffered so much, can't you just speak to me nicely...."
"Humph!"
Liam turned his face away with disdain. He was still young and did not understand what “carrying for eight months” meant. But he was very clear that he didn't like Mellisa; he despised this woman who claimed to be his mother.
"Liam, apologize to your mother!"
Jasper's gaze was ice-cold. Kids of the Brumfield family could be cold-hearted, but they had to respect their elders. Anyone who disrespected their mother would be kicked out of the Brumfield family.
"Forget it, Jasper...." Mellisa choked, "I may be their mother, but I have never fulfilled the duties of raising a child. It’s understandable if Liam doesn't recognize me as his mother. Don’t scare him."
The Aldridge family was her mother's family. The founders of the Sanders Group were her grandparents.
When the Sanders Group was established, Flavia's mother owned 50% of the company's shares. After her mother's untimely death, the shares were transferred to her. Flavia was extremely pampered in the Sanders family and was the designated heir when she turned 18.
Unfortunately, scandalous photos of her were taken by the paparazzi the day after her 18th birthday. After that day, she was locked in a warehouse. Her life totally collapsed...
And all of this was Mellisa's scheme.
After she escaped from the fire that year, she was planning to go to the Aldridge family to seek protection from her grandmother.
But Mellisa held a press conference and widely publicized Flavia's out-of-wedlock pregnancy. She also said Flavia had set fire to the Sanders family’s warehouse, causing billions of dollars in damage and eventually committed suicide after giving birth to a stillborn baby. Flavia, the "dead person," became the target of online public condemnation.
She was the granddaughter of the Aldridge family, so the Aldridge family was also attacked by the press. Flavia didn't want the Aldridge family to get involved, so she left.
After all, she was already a “dead person” in many people's eyes. Leaving was the smartest choice.
So, she lived abroad with her two children for four years, and she hid her identity for four years...
She was no longer the Sanders family heir who was deceived and framed years ago; the old Flavia was dead.
The car stopped at the entrance of the Aldridge family.
