Chapter 590
Natalia’s POV
“What the hell is going on here?!”
Andrei’s voice boomed across the driveway, surprising everyone. The pack members all whirled around gasping and murmuring, some even shouting outright–one woman even fainted, caught by one of her companions before she could fall–as they saw him climb out of the car.
“Alpha Andrei!” Mila rushed forward then stumbled and dropped to her knees in front of us. “Oh my Goddess, you’re alive! He’s alive! You’re all alive!” She looked between the three of us, completely dumbfounded. “How ?”
“We’ll explain everything later,” I said, nodding toward Aurelius‘ warriors, who were now moving toward us. “Where is Aurelius?”
Mila stood, slowly pointing her trembling finger at the house.
“He took the house,” she whispered. “Jane and Hope and Karl are still in there!*
I grit my teeth. Andrei looked at me, clearly wanting an explanation, and quickly. “This hotheaded young Alpha has been giving me trouble for a couple of months now,” I explained quietly. “He threatened to take Moonshadow for himself because I didn’t have an Alpha by my side.” I scratched my head. “I staged a fake engagement with Karl in an attempt to get him to leave me alone, but it seems he stopped believing me.”
“He wasn’t here this morning when I left,” the Beta added, rubbing the back of his neck. “Must have made his move once he realized all the leadership was out of the way. Coward.”
Andrei’s jaw clenched so hard I could see the muscle jump beneath his skin. The warriors approached us, pointing spears in our direction.
“This pack is officially under siege by order of Alpha-”
“Get the fuck out of my way,” Andrei hissed, smacking one of the spears away from his face. “This is my property, and you’re all trespassing.”
The warriors exchanged glances. None of them moved at first, but then Andrei snarled, dropping his fangs, and they parted like a line of ants.
Without another word, Andrei grabbed my hand and stormed up the path, then up the front steps. He kicked the door open, sending it crashing against the wall. We heard laughter and what sounded like whimpering coming from the living room, and quickly went that way.
Aurelius, the bastard, was standing right in the middle of our living room with one of my favorite vases in his hands. There was a group of female servants huddling in the corner, in front of the closet.
“What about this one?” he asked. “This one looks expensive. I won’t break it if you open that door.”

The servants didn’t move. Aurelius dropped the vase, shattering the porcelain on the floor. The servants whimpered and shrank into the corner where they were huddling, but they didn’t move away. Aurelius cursed and reached for a family photo on the mantelpiece next.
I didn’t see Hope and Jane anywhere. My pulse spiked. But then the servants looked at me, eyes widening, and one of them subtly nodded her head toward the door behind them. I let out a small breath.
“Ahem.” Andrei folded his arms. “And you are…?”
Aurelius turned slowly. He was sneering in the way that a bully might sneer on the playground when he was tormenting a bunch of little girls who were younger and weaker than him. But his smirk quickly faded when he saw Andrei standing there, like the teacher had arrived.
“You’re…”
“Alive,” Max growled, clenching his fists. “And my dad’s gonna kick your ass.”
I didn’t bother to scold Max for his language this time. Because he was right. And I was gonna help.
“Alpha Andrei.” Aurelius took a step back. “I–I didn’t-”
“This coward’s been bothering you?” Andrei asked, glancing at me. I nodded. He scoffed. “He looks like a
worm.”
“Smells like one too,” a small voice called out from the closet behind where the servants were huddling. I
smiled. Jane. 1
Andrei snarled, turning to Aurelius again. “Get the fuck out of my house before I kill you myself.”
Aurelius straightened. “No. I’ve taken the pack for myself. You haven’t been here, and your bitch wife lied to me. So I have every right-”
Andrei didn’t give him a chance to finish. He marched over, grabbing a fistful of Aurelius‘ shirt, and began hauling him toward the door. Aurelius fought hard, but despite his size and ego, he didn’t stand a chance against Andrei.
“Natalia, darling,” Andrei said, nodding to the door. “Would you mind?”
“Of course.” Smiling, I walked over and opened the door, then watched with one hand on Max’s shoulder as Andrei calmly dragged the kicking, protesting Aurelius over to it. Then, he unceremoniously threw him -yes, threw him, and the Alpha got quite a bit of air under his ass–onto the path.
Aurelius fell with a crunch that sounded like something breaking and a groan. He sprawled there on his back, gasping for breath. His warriors shrank back a little, looking warily at Andrei.
“Come back again,” Andrei said, dusting off his hands, “and I’ll whip you naked through the streets, you pathetic little man. No one calls my wife a bitch.” 1
Aurelius said nothing. Andrei didn’t give him a chance to, anyway. Nodding to his Beta and Mila, indicating for them to handle the situation, Andrei then slammed the door and turned to me.

“Thanks,” I said, smiling wryly. “Apparently, some people don’t think a woman counts as Alpha.”
Andrei snorted. “Only the ones with little pricks.”
I covered Max’s ears, but he swatted them away, grinning.
Just then, we heard the sound of an engine revving and tires screeching outside. Then, a familiar voice was heard shouting, growing closer by the moment.
“Andrei! ANDREI! Where the FUCK IS MY BROTHER?!”
Andrei, eyes widening, turned and opened the door again. A moment later, a figure burst into the house, throwing himself at Andrei with such force that it sent him staggering back and slamming hard enough into the drywall to crack it.
