ASHINA
“How could you do that to your older sister?! Jenella was there to support you all the time but you hurt her!”
Father’s lecturing voice makes me blink.
Father? Is this afterlife? Am I now seeing my father in the afterlife? But...
My eyes roamed around the room, and all of it was familiar. Yes, it is. All I can see had happened before. Is the afterlife reminding me of the past? On the moment that Jenella had intentionally injured herself because—
My eyes got bigger. I am back!!!
Is it all real? I stood up and looked outside the room. As I saw the people outside, I pinched my arm... Ouch! I felt that slight pain, and I smiled triumphantly. This is my second chance! A second chance to do what is right!
'Oh, Moon Goddess... you really give me another chance. Thank you!'
“What is happening with you, Ashina?! Where is the sweet and caring daughter that I raised? Are you doing this because you don’t like to be a mate of Garth? Is that your reason for causing this accident with your sister? To distract everyone for the Blood Moon Ceremony tonight?”
I didn’t answer. I sat on the couch first while analyzing what precisely happened then. Oh yes, I remember now just by looking at Jenella with blood on her face. Great! I remember taking the blame because Dad was right… that time, I wanted to reject Garth as my mate, and I thought I really hurt Jenella.
No! I will never make a wrong decision again. This is a second chance to live, then I will make everything right and never let Jenella and Charles do their evil ways.
“But… But, Dad… I did not hurt Jenella. I did not push her down the stairs. I can’t do that,” I said with tears.
I am literally crying because I am talking again to my father, who had been poisoned by Jenella. Daddy is with me again, and I will protect him. Jenella won't stand a chance now!
I remember Jenella's evil laugh in my past life when she proudly told me how she orchestrated my abduction. She said that I am stupid like Dad.
I was staring into my father’s eyes and saw his emotion change. Yes, it does. In my previous life, I remember how our conversation went wrong because I was yelling at him, telling him I would never accept Garth as my mate. And remembering that, I know I said something bad to my father before this moment where Jenella pointed her fingers at me as the one who hurt her.
“But Jenella said it was you who pushed her.” Father stared at me and then glanced at Jenella.
“Listen to me, Daddy. Jenella dramatized that fall.” I need to convince my father. I need to convince him and meet Garth again in this other life. I need to make everything possible for Garth and me.
“How could you say that to your older sister? Jenella is a very caring and loving sister to you. She will never do that to make you blame. You are implying that she is lying.”
“Uncle, it’s alright…” Jenella's soft voice interrupted us. “There must be a misunderstanding between me and my sweet sister Ashina.”
“Uncle, I think we need to let Ashina be alone to rest,” Jenella said in her caring tone. “You can postpone the meeting of her and Alpha Garth, for I think Ashina needs time to decide.”
“And who are you to dictate my father and me, Jenella?!” I asked her with a daggering stare. Hostility all over my voice.
Jenella didn’t say a word after that. She just gave me a surprised look and no wonder that was all she could do. All her bravado before was just because I indulged her and because Charles helping her. Now it’s my turn, and she can only feel sorry for herself.
I transferred my attention to my father and smiled at him warmly.
“Where is Garth, Dad?” I asked. Full of hope to see my mate again.
“Ashina, I hope you won’t refuse him to be your mate. You need to listen to the Moon Goddess. You and Garth are fated to be together.”
I giggled. I know that, and no one can separate us now. I will make sure of that.
“Stop giggling. I meant it, Ashina. Once you rejected Garth, you would also be injured. Your wolf will weaken, too.”
“And who says that I might reject him? I am excited to marry Garth, Dad! I am excited to be his luna!”
