Elena and Theresa stepped forward. Elena helped Claire up from the floor.
"Elena..."
"It's okay. I'm here," Elena whispered soothingly.
The manager glanced at Emily with disdain. "Some classless people indeed need to be kicked out! You two—get out! You are not welcome here!"
Max was furious. In all his life, he had never been kicked out of anywhere.
"On what grounds?!" Max demanded.
"Because I am here!" Theresa suddenly spoke up.
Emily was enraged. She began to curse at Theresa, "Who do you think you are..."
"Shut up!" Before Emily could finish, Max snapped at her.
Emily looked at him in confusion, but Max suddenly turned and walked away.
"Mr. Holt, wait for me! Mr. Holt..." Emily quickly chased after him.
Outside the hotel, Max looked at Emily and muttered, "What bad luck."
"Mr. Holt, why did you run out? Shouldn't we have argued with them and had them thrown out? We are the ones with status!" Emily asked, bewildered.
Max looked at her with speechless exasperation. "Is there something wrong with your brain? That was the young miss of the Ellington family!"
Neither the Holt family nor the Sterling family could afford to offend them.
"So what if she's the Ellington heiress? I'm an heiress too!"
Max looked at the foolish woman with utter disgust.
"That hotel belongs to her family! Do you understand now?"
Emily was stunned into silence.
The hotel was owned by that woman's family!
No wonder Max didn't dare make a peep after Theresa appeared!
It was their territory.
Seeing Emily speechless, Max felt even more repulsed.
Her hair was messy, her makeup smeared.
She was draped in gaudy jewelry, looking utterly embarrassing.
