Liam Lawson had certainly heard of the Aurelis Holdings Group and the name Sean Maddox, though this was his first time meeting the man in the flesh.
"Mr. Maddox, to what do I owe the honor of your visit?" Liam asked, trying to keep his composure.
"I'm here regarding the Lunaria Garden project. It now belongs to Aurelis Holdings Group. I suggest Ironcrest Construction withdraws immediately," Sean stated flatly.
"What?!" Liam was thunderstruck.
He turned frantically to his wife.
Mrs. Lawson’s voice was ice-cold. "This is all because of that mistress of yours, Liam. I’ll deal with you when we get home. You dared to go behind my back and mess around, and now you’ve lost us the Lunaria Garden project. You useless idiot!"
Liam Lawson stayed silent, unable to defend himself.
When Aurelis Holdings Group wanted something, they always got it.
Mrs. Lawson, realizing they had no leverage, had no choice but to concede the project.
Soon enough, Ironcrest Construction pulled their crew from the site.
Almost immediately, a new team moved in to take their place.
Sean drummed his fingers rhythmically on the office desk, surveying the space.
A moment later, Elena walked in.
"Boss! You're here!" Sean’s face lit up with a grin.
"Is everything handled?" Elena asked.
"Done. It’s just Lunaria Garden; it was a piece of cake. Honestly, if you wanted to acquire Ironcrest Construction entirely, that wouldn't be a problem either. Now Liam Lawson and his wife have no choice but to leave Cresden City with their tails between their legs!"
They were originally from out of town and had only recently come to Cresden City for this project.
Liam had thought he could cheat on his wife while away from home without consequence.
Now, he had offended his wife and lost the project. He was in for a world of pain.
"But... Boss, this project is likely going to operate at a loss. Liam made a mess of it. Are you sure you want to take over this disaster? Aren't you worried about losing money?"
Elena glanced at him coolly. "Do you think I can't afford to lose money?"
"Uh... that's not what I meant. You spent years filling the financial black hole of the Sterling family, so a tiny project like Lunaria Garden is nothing, of course."
"Enough. Arrange a position for my older brother. As long as he’s happy working here, that’s all that matters."
Older brother?
So, the Boss was doing all of this for her family again.
