Logan looked up and saw Dylan. His voice trembled. "Boss... The Boss is dead. They killed her!"
Dylan's mind instantly flashed to Elena.
"Mr. Sinclair? What are you doing here?" Sirius asked, surprised.
"Mr. Brooks," Dylan growled, his fists clenching at his sides. "Where is Elena? The person you planned to ambush today was her, wasn't it?"
"Yeah, it was. But Sinclair, what's it to you?"
"Where is she!"
"She fell."
Dylan lunged forward, ready to beat Sirius into the ground.
The bodyguards surrounding Sirius immediately swarmed forward to block him.
At that moment, George arrived with his own team.
The two groups faced off, weapons drawn.
"Mr. Miller," Sirius sneered, glancing at the reinforcements. "I didn't expect you to bring an army."
"You actually dared to ambush Elena!" Dylan felt as though his heart was being ripped apart.
"Mr. Sinclair, isn't there some kind of misunderstanding here?" Sirius asked. He had always dealt with George; this was his first time meeting Dylan in person.
"Today, none of you who hurt her are leaving here alive!"
Chaos erupted as the two sides clashed.
Sirius, having just survived a brutal fight with Elena, wasn't in any condition to linger. He took his remaining men and fled the scene amidst the confusion.
"George, go after them!" Dylan roared.
The grassy field was a mess of trampled earth and bloodstains. Several bodies lay nearby, unattended.
Dylan walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down into the thick, heavy fog. His heart sank.
"Elena... Elena..." he cried out in anguish.
He was too late.
He didn't know she had come to Silvercrest. He knew nothing about what she was doing.
