She was using the alias Theresa Graham, taking her mother Diane Ellington’s maiden name.
This was Theresa's first real job, and at first, she felt a spark of interest.
What would it feel like to be an employee for the first time?
Arriving at the Sales Department office, she saw many people busy at work.
“Hello, I'm the new employee. My name is Theresa Graham. Excuse me, are you Rachel Ward?” Theresa asked.
A woman working in front of a computer didn't even lift her head.
“That's me. What do you want?”
“Management told me to find you. They said you would show me the ropes for a while.”
Rachel looked up, glanced at Theresa, and pointed to an empty desk in front. “There. That's your station.”
Theresa went to her cubicle, feeling a bit happy inside.
She had her own desk now!
She definitely had to experience what it was like to be an employee properly this time!
“Newbie, go make me a cup of coffee!” Rachel said to Theresa.
“Make coffee?” Theresa froze for a moment.
She came here to work, not to be a servant!
“What's wrong? Is making a cup of coffee too difficult for you?”
Theresa thought about it. She still needed Rachel to train her, so as a newcomer, she decided to just do it.
After bringing the coffee, Theresa asked with a smile, “Ms. Ward, may I ask what I should be doing now?”
Before Rachel could speak, a colleague next to her waved at Theresa. “Hey newbie, take this to the finance director for me! Thanks!”
Theresa took the document, stunned.
“And take this to HR for me!”
Seeing everyone ordering her around to run errands, Theresa felt very dissatisfied.
She was here to work, not to be their gopher!
“Why should I do all of this? These are your tasks!” Theresa wasn't going to indulge them.
