Mr. Cooper finished speaking and didn't want to argue with them any further.
Cathy and Nick were instantly dumbfounded.
Back at home, Cathy sought out Edward to discuss the situation.
After hearing the news, Edward felt a massive headache coming on.
"How could this happen? Everything was going so smoothly before! Why did Aurelis Holdings Group specifically ask for Daniel? It's just too strange! Could it be that the contract in Elena's hand is actually real?" Edward was forced to be suspicious now.
"Dad, what are we going to do? If the partnership with Aurelis Holdings Group falls through, Grandma will skin me alive! Do we really have to go and beg them?"
Cathy was only now realizing the gravity of the situation.
The more arrogant she had been before, the more panicked she was now.
She knew the old woman's personality all too well; she valued profit above everything else.
A partnership with Aurelis Holdings Group was something countless companies dreamed of.
If she screwed this up, she was dead meat.
"Forget it. I have no choice but to swallow my pride," Edward said, knowing there was no other way out.
He had to beg his older brother.
Over at Evergold Heights.
Daniel and Amanda were taking a walk on their lawn.
The couple had just finished exercising.
"Back when I was working on the farm, I didn't feel it as much, but now that I'm not doing manual labor, my whole body aches. I finally understand why city people need to exercise," Amanda remarked.
"Yeah. It feels good to come out and exercise with you, just to clear our minds."
"Don't think about the company anymore. If we can't go back, then so be it. Our life now is pretty good. There's no need to fight for anything on my account."
Although she said that, Daniel was still worried about the company.
