Amanda looked at Daniel, her jaw practically on the floor.
Elena hadn't expected this guy to be so thoroughly prepared. It seemed he was determined to get her parents into the new house today, no matter what.
"Well... Dylan is certainly... enthusiastic," Amanda said, smiling awkwardly.
The car drove slowly into Evergold Heights. Watching the familiar route, Elena had a sinking feeling.
Sure enough, the car pulled up to the grand plaza of the most exclusive estate in Evergold Heights.
"Mr. Whelan, Mrs. Whelan, watch your step," Dylan said, personally helping the elderly couple out of the car.
"Dylan, dear, where is the house you mentioned?" Amanda looked around the massive plaza, completely confused.
"Mrs. Whelan, this is it! This is just the entrance plaza. The residence is right behind it."
Amanda and Daniel were thunderstruck.
"Dylan, are you mistaken? You mean... this entire place is..." Daniel couldn't believe his eyes. He had never seen such a massive property. Even the old Whelan family ancestral home paled in comparison to this.
"Yes, Mr. Whelan. This entire estate belongs to the Whelan family now."
"No, no, no, this is too expensive! And it's just a few of us; we can't possibly live in a place this big!" Amanda was frantic. Initially, she had worried a city apartment might be too cramped.
She'd heard from her neighbor Martha that buying even a bathroom in the city cost a fortune.
She had assumed that with so many family members, they'd be squeezing into tight quarters. She never imagined a sprawling estate of several thousand square feet.
"Mr. Whelan, Mrs. Whelan, since we're already here, let's just settle in!"
Elena stood to the side, surveying the property, feeling utterly depressed.
Wasn't this the exact estate she had just sold yesterday?
